You can try 000webhost it always works for me for small or test projects, but for more serious stuff go with cheap hosting, use the search, there are tons of threads with recommendations of hosting.

    Good luck

Why are you looking to host it for free? What do you plan to do with the domain/website that you're building?

I would avoid free hosting, the decent free webhosts include ads on your webpages, the bad ones are unreliable, full of spammy websites on the same IP etc.

You can get hosting for less than $5 a year if you look around

You can get cheapest shared hosting packages with $1-$2 and those are decent for one new site so you should reconsider going to free hosting.

    answer to "what's next"

login to godaddy and go to the domain options. Find "nameservers" and change them to your hosts nameservers.

Login to your hosting account and add a new domain within a cpanel, this will create a ftp account with all the necessary info.

Wait a couple of hours till your NS propagate and upload your site to the host and you're set

I suggest you not to use free hosting, because usually its limited, you get not much resources and so on - so its good just for testings and for micro projects - and usually if you have enough money to buy domain I think you can find few additional bucks for a normal hosting, because on free hosting you dont get any guarantees - so far I've tested free hostings I got many network interuptions and other issues

Better get $1/$2 hosting than free, I'd avoid free hosting. Or use blogger, if you don't want wordpress CMS.

Whatever you're using this domain for...

loosen the purse strings a little. You can pick up hosting for like a $1 a month.

Even cheap hosting is better than free hosting. Free hosts typically feature adverts on your page which are outbound links, so you're losing customers/link juice right out of the gates.
