help please on redirect

I am still a dumbass,

I need to redirect one post from one of my old blogs to my new blog.

It looked easy, set it up in cpanel on the new blog, but it doesn't seem to work.

1) Icopied the post from old blog to new one and set it up to run fine.
2)deleted post on old blog
3) went to cpanel of newblog "redirect" set it as 301, all "public domains"
4) entered the old blog address
5)entered new blog address

searched old blog on google, on clicking it just goes told blog and page not found, doh!

can anyone tell me where I am going wrong please.

I changed the post name slightly, would that matter?

old post address: http://****.net/joseph-vacher-the-french-ripper/
new post address: http://****.com/joseph-vacher/

Hope I don't get molested by google for dup content.

No problem, glad it helped.

Redirection is the best solution for internal redirects. For wildcard redirects Cpanel or .htaccess is best.
