I am new to getting backlinks to a blog. Can anyone assist me on how to do this? Do I email someone with the same niche blog and ask for a backlink? Do I offer them a guest post? I really need some help!:newbie::cat3:

Guest posts are one way but unless your already getting a lot of traffic its unlikely people will want to spend time posting on your blog.

The best way is commenting on other peoples blogs in related niches on high PR pages and putting a backlink either as part of the comment (keyword targeted backlink) or in the website url box that is put there for that purpose.

I understand. I do not write the blog myself, I have a client wanting me to backlink it.

What about articles? Could I post a few and put the links to the blog in there?

So let me get this straight, someone is paying you to get them backlinks and you are taking their money - without knowing how to do the job. Sorry, but I have no sympathy for you for that as well as the fact that there must be 100 plus posts in this forum on how to get backlinks. Your post count leads me to believe that you have never contributed to this forum in a meanigful way and want to be spoon fed, either you are stupid or you are trying to scam us.

Thank you basstracker. I do appreciate the link.

and movie person whatever, i do backlink seo for websites which is what he hired me to do.. he asked me to do this and i have not charged him a dime because i have been researching.

i got on this site for some assistance.. as you should be able to see, I just joined. Thank you for slamming me for trying to gain knowledge. And I have looked through this site but could not find what i was looking for.

I will not bother anybody in here again. I see how it is to be a NEWBIE, as I posted in my question.

You really didn't look, there are thousands of topics regrading link building, but as somebody has already stated, the best way to get backlinks to a new blog, is commenting on other blogs within the same niche, you'll probably also get some traffic from these backlinks.

Marla14, you posted your question in a forum called "link building" and you would rather wait for someone to answer your questions without taking the time to scroll down the threads list. How do I know you didn't take the time to search? Easy, you posted a very basic question on link building. If you had taken the time to look around you would have found dozens of posts on how to build backlinks on Web 2.0 properties, forums, blog commenting and on and on. Fresh material gets posted here daily - all on the topic of getting backlinks.

You remind me of some of my clients, they can't operate their computers if the programs they need don't have shortcuts on the desktop. Can't be bothered to take a little time to learn the very basics of how to find and start the programs that they use everyday and depend on.

If you had invested as much time doing a basic search as you did waiting for a response to your question, you would not have needed to post it in the first place.
