The one guy said, thanks a lot and asked my name, the other guy said that it was not necessary.

I gave the one guy my first name and told the other guy necessary was not the reason. It was only to give something to someone so they could get a gift from a randomer.

The one that was most perplexed was the cashier as she had no idea what was going on.

I thought of a good way to relate this to SEO. Let's say you are successful in your niche or method and you end up making a lot of money in IM. Then you come across someone who hasn't made a lot of money yet and you simply PM them a detailed way that they can make that money too! I would be willing to be an altruistic outlet for anyone here that would like to have a nice little win for the day. And before you say it, there's no need to thank me. It's just the kind of guy I am.
