So I currently work a job I dont particularly enjoy, and yesterday had been offered another job by a very large home improvements company that has been going since 1965.

It's paid on 100% commission basis and you are paid each time that you make an appointment with a customer for a quotation. Speaking to the chap who interviewed me I asked him if we were allowed to run our own online ads to which he said yes - As long as we're not deceiving customers into believing the work will be cheap as the prices are they charge are high - but you get what you pay for.

Works out to be that you can earn a £60 commission for a quote on a large home improvement item such as a conservatory and then for something like guttering £15.

The job results in me getting trained to be an Area marketing manager for my local area ( Covering around a 45 minute drive from my house at most ) - I'm 20 so to get offered this position was an absolute shock.

I have no savings - and this is a very very scary jump into the unknown and I rent a place and have fairly large monthly outgoings. I'm worried that If I don't make it I may screw my life up completely but at the same time I wanna go and smash this job and reap the rewards....

What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Sometimes you gotta take a risk in life. This is your opportunity to do it.
If you wanna stay on the safe side then keep your current job, but if you are willing to grind your upcoming job and put in the extra work then by all means go for it.

I would take the risk

The problem here is that you don't have some side money saved up so go save some money first!

If its a 100% commission based job i'd take it but continue working your other job. You can work your own hours and put in the hours as you please... see if you're able to make the commission base job sustainable. If you are then quit your day job and focus on building your commish.

I wouldn't quit your day job to try this out..
