Hello guys i was planning to buy macbook but i am confused which one to buy which will be the right macbook for me.
i need for game coding like for unreal engine, video editing like AE or Premier pro etc. it must not lag
i liked the macbook pro m2 but still i need your suggestions , please help me to choose the right one.
thanks

look for HP laptops with DDR5 RAM and for MacBook pro price you can get decent HP DDR5 laptop. Though you will have to pay monthly or annually for Adobe software on Windows 11. though Windows 12 will be out in 2024 as per official announcement.
and 2022 has almost ended

M2 macbook pro is still overpriced. Don’t buy it.

Buy a M1 pro/max macbook pro with atleast 32 gbs of ram. You can even edit 8k footages without a hiccup.

If editing a 4k footage, you could go with a m2 macbook air perhaps.

can you upgrade ram... for Mac?

Nopes, not even internal ssd. Choose atleast 1tb storage for serious work.

I am quite happy with my 2020 Macbook Air (if you are fine with doing all the things in cloud)

m2 pro don’t come with 14 its has only 13
I just looked again on the apple store. All I see is m1 now that I’m actually paying attention lol.

If they don’t have what you need available for purchase you have to wait until they do or just go with m1.

You will hate yourself for buying 512gb model. Again, go for atleast 1tb if you are trying to do video editing. You might think you will use an external ssd, but there’s a huge problem with them. If you keep it plugged in, and transfer the apps to it, it will get fried in a couple of months due to excessive read and writes. Trust me on that because it has happened to me multiple times before.

You are buying a macbook pro and spending a lot of money already. Don't cheap out on necessary stuffs. ;)

I’ve been using an NVME external drive for 3 years with my MacBook and Mac mini. It’s working ok for me. I don’t put apps on it though. Probably shouldn’t do that and instead just keep your videos, pictures and other non app related things there if that’s what you’re going to do.

External drives get fried? Where the hell do you got this trashy external drives? Using since 2 years on 3 different devices extern ssd drives withoutANY problem and im doing video editing in 4k/vr
Just get a good one from crucial (mx500 or nvme p5), buy a case and put the ssd inside.
