In this post, I will try to explain the principle of how technical traffic works, its impact and potential opportunities, as well as highlight the main mistakes that specialists and clients make during the process, based on my personal experience. I won’t delve deeply into this topic but will try to convey my thoughts to you in "simple" language, without getting into terminology.

Let’s start with the principle of this system - technical traffic (which is also referred to as "automated"):

Technical traffic is primarily an imitation of organic traffic on your website.
Based on this, you can already understand the purpose of this creation - to show search engines that your site is visited, and therefore, it is interesting to users.

It is impossible to cover all search engines and their algorithms, structures, and principles by which they rank or do not rank a particular site in the top search results in one topic, as this is a colossal amount of information.

However, all search engines are similar in that they all "look" at the metric indicators of your sites, and based on this, movements in the format of increasing rankings in the search engine occur or do not occur.
From this, you can already understand the main principle of working with technical traffic - to emulate what the search engine needs so that it, in turn, fulfills its part of the task.

Knowing this, many of you have probably thought: "Great, I’ll go order this service and make a fortune."

Let me hold you back and tell you about the mistakes:

The mistakes made in this work can be divided into two parts:

  1. Mistakes on the part of the client;
  2. Mistakes on the part of the executor.

Now, let’s discuss in more detail the mistakes that executors often make:

The first and foremost mistake is a misunderstanding of the principle of operation.

The most common problem I encounter in my work is the "incompetence" of the client. This especially applies to people from the category of "wow, I’ll pay an amount now, and by tomorrow I’ll get a million."

I hasten to disappoint you - it’s not like that. Of course, each specialist has their own timelines and principles of work. By the way, using our system, it is possible to bring a site to the top 3/10/30 of search results in a short time (7-14 days), while another person may require up to a year for this process.
I am not talking about "golden mountains" - it’s about the fact that all specialists use their own methodologies in their work, their resources, and capabilities.

  • Discuss the timelines in advance, find out the cost and details that interest you - if something is unclear, ask for clarification - we don’t bite; a competent specialist will be happy to help you by answering your questions, as later (already in the process of work) these questions, which may seem quite silly, will not arise.

Next, let’s talk about your personal beliefs.

Regardless of the methodology and technology in SEO that your executor uses, it is important to remember the main point - there is no concept of "absolute guarantee" in SEO, as there is always a third party involved in our work - the search engine - and neither you nor we can "negotiate" with it. Just know that it may happen that the site does not grow in the top search results, and it’s not that this is normal, but neither you nor the specialist is to blame.

In the case of an unsuccessful launch, analyze your mistakes, the specialist will analyze theirs - come to a new agreement and try again.
Specifically regarding technical traffic.

Remember that this type of traffic does not provide conversion actions!

In my work experience, there have been some individuals who, during or after the completion of the work process, asked me questions like "why is no one buying/ordering/downloading anything (and similar)?" - simply because it is impossible, even though I had previously explained the work process in detail...

You start receiving conversion actions in whatever form they may take for you after the site begins to occupy positions in the top search results from which organic traffic starts coming based on your offer.

Mistakes in the work of executors:

As in the cases described above, I do not intend to criticize anyone - we are all human, and we all make mistakes. I will only base my observations on my experience working with projects that came to me from clients disappointed with the work of previous specialists (this applies to all areas of SEO).

Negligent attitude.

Some of those individuals started working without initially checking the "condition" of the site. And this is not just about technical traffic. The main point in the work of an SEO specialist, in my opinion, is the audit of the site you will be working on. If you see that there are errors on the site that could affect your further work, inform the client.

If you are working with "standard SEO," meaning you have skills in site optimization, do it yourself. If you lack the necessary knowledge and skills, inform the client about the errors - they will find a contractor for this work, after which you can proceed with your tasks.
Lack of process monitoring.

Here, I really want to curse... Because how can you understand that everything is working as it should without analyzing the process?

This aspect is no less important in the work process (in my opinion) - find a way or use an existing method for monitoring - do not be negligent in this regard!

First of all, think about what you will do in case of a force majeure situation that you might not even be aware of...

Now, let’s talk about the main point - the potential and opportunities:

Undoubtedly, everyone who is reading this knows that technical traffic is a gray/black (depending on the methodology) method of website promotion.
This moment is significant, but the possibilities it provides outweigh the concerns (in my opinion). Because if you work by the white methodology, you should be prepared for the fact that the website promotion process may take many months, if not years, while this method of connecting technical traffic can allow you to achieve your goals in a short time.

In simpler terms, achieving the best search results in a short time is a reality; it is possible, and it is not worth approaching this with skepticism.

I am the owner of software that is partially related to everything mentioned here.
More specifically, I provide my clients with website promotion services using my own SERP traffic technology (+link building) - in my case, this is also technical traffic, but our system differs from the process of "behavioral factor manipulation" by technical aspects and system flexibility, which I cannot disclose - everything will be explained in the commercial topic when I publish it.

UPD: Don’t forget that not all websites can be directly connected to technical traffic; they may also require work with the link mass.

I hope that this post has helped answer many of the questions that readers may have and shed light on pressing topics.
I reiterate that I did not intend to offend or upset anyone with my comments, but a problem will remain a problem if it is not addressed.
I would appreciate your feedback.

Sincerely, oSpectral!
