[HELP]How much to charge??[HELP]

Right, i'm thinking about starting a local offline website creating business. The only question i really have is. Is it ok, if i just create them a wordpress blog, with an free theme for it?

I'm not sure whether or not this will be a good idea as I am mainly targeting people that are self employed etc. Also if i am doing this then how much you say to charge (not including the hosting and domain name etc) but for me to include most of the needed information on the site??

I wouldn't recommend it.You won't get much of a name(or business) because wordpress free themes don't really have much style.
As for the info you get the client to write what he thinks of his business,maybe change it slightly but this way they are always happy with the copy(because they wrote it themselves).In fact if your smart it is usually a case of copy and paste to set the site up.
Get them to give you some images and create a photoshop action to automatically resize them in the folder then upload.

I couldn't give you even a rough price to do this for a free theme because I would never do it.I always buy legit themes for support and any updates and to keep my client right.I think charging for a free theme is pretty close to charging for unlicensed one.

In the end it's up to you.I always a take deposit,which gives me money and covers any theme purchase.I prefer they host it but give them an affiliate link to get their hosting so there is a little something in it for me but if the sites gets hacked I don't have the responsibility of sorting it unpaid.

If it's wordpress buy something like backup buddy,wp-twin and sell them a back of the site once it's complete,it's an add on service.
I usually send a letter 2 weeks after the site is live,I don't so it with html sites because databases don't matter with those but wordpress is different.I always use a test domain to make sure the backup went well and show the client their website on a test domain so they know (and I know) the backup is good.

Most businesses go for the back up option when you mention a little about hacking and the fact they'd need to pay for a new website if anything happens,again another reason I rarely host client domains.

Ahh right ok, Thank you for the help I will definitely go with using bought wordpress themes. Have you got any idea where good ones are sold? Also How much are you charging for each site that you sell?

So you suggest this then.
1) get the buyer to specify what he wants + Deposit
2) buy a wordpress theme (with the deposit) and upload
3) get the customer to type what he wants to be in the website.
4) update website
5) get money
6) get backup and sell to the customer
