I'm a non-tech guy and my go-to WP developer isn't available. My WP-based site is ready but it needs testing, and I want to host it on a DO droplet (accessed by its IP address) and make it live so that we could work on it further. I have the site files.
How difficult is it for me to host it and how long should I take? Also, any tutorial links would be great. I use a Mac.

EDIT: WP droplet is already created.

Thanks for the help.

Do what @trollini has said. Create a new Wordpress droplet. You'll receive a username and password by email. Connect to the droplet ( I Use the console option on DO). The console asks for domain and whether you want to use SSL. I've only used it with domains

Well if you know nothing i am pretty sure there are options to auto set a wp enviroment when creating the droplet

https://marketplace.digitalocean.com/apps/wordpress

if not digitalocean has the best tutorials out there to install basic stuff, just google it

I've already created a WP droplet.

I think this tutorial should help me somewhat. I needed to know the prerequisites (in the form of programs needed on my machine) to host the site and I think this is a good link.
The initial part of the tutorial tells you how to self-sign an SSL in case one doesn't have a domain.

Consider creating a plesk droplet too. It has an interface and you won't have to work in terminal

Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to consider at this moment. If you're suggesting Plesk over WP, which one should I go for- Obsidian or centOS?

+1 for Trollini.. those guides are the absolute best. Just follow along carefully and you'll be able to set it up even without a technical background. DO are gangster when it comes to those guides.

Now I have another problem. For some reason, when I type the newly created password to access (after accessing console through the default one sent over by DO over mail), it says "incorrect password."

Reset password 3 times already.

Bro If you don't know to code then You can opt for 3rd party services like Serverpilot and Serveravatar which can help you by just putting your Nameserver and few details. You don't need to do any coding if you have a droplet ready. Just configure your details in these 3rd party services and all done Automatically by Them.

Either use managed DO service like cloudways or use managed hosting till you figure out DO technical issues.
