I recently made an affiliate site. I want to change the site url from xxxxx.org/wordpress into xxxxx.org.
I tried changing in Phpmyadmin and File manager. I also tried changing it in wordpress dashboard, but can not do it.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

By the way I need to tell something here.
I read on a blog that to change the site url, we must move root directory files onto a sub directory aimed at the new url. Then change the urls in the PHPmy admin.

Problem is that I dont know where to create a folder to move root files into.

If you would like to update the WordPress site URL and hoe URL then below are the steps for you -

    1. You will need to login to cPanel >> Go to phpMyAdmin.
    2. There will be table name wp_options. Under it edit the value for site URL and home URL.
    3. Save.
    4. Also make sure to check the wp-config file under cPanel >> File Manager >> public_html. Check whether, there is site URL and home URL entry. If present then update it.

Clear the browser's cache and try to access your website with new URL.

Please note, if you've WordPress installed on the URL xyz.com/wp then you will need to move the WordPress from sub-directory to main directory that is root directory.

If you're familiar with SSH then move it using command line. Else ask your web-developer to do it for you. Make sure to take the full backup of data before updating anything.

Hope this will help you. :)

    ^^^^ THIS ^^^^

That would be the first thing I would suggest anyway because if you mess anything up at least you have your site backed up. Plenty of plugins to backup your site.
