Help I moved one site from Blogger to WordPress on bluehost but can't access it unless I use VPN and change my location.

I've contacted bluehost support they said the site is working fine from their end but I still cant access it both the home page and the login unless I use a VPN.

Who have experienced this? Pls help asap as I'm losing traffic

What you're describing doesn't sound like a hosting problem, it sounds like your own DNS settings is messed up. Check with your ISP if you can't figure the DNS out.

If that's the case, you're just locking yourself out, not visitors.

I changed my PC, and phone still yet I can't access the site, I've now opened a ticket with the domain name register, let me see their reply

I had this problem when my IP address was blocked after failed logon attempts. Sometimes they blacklist IP addresses for a variety of reasons. Mind you the support should have checked this, I'd ask them to check because it really sounds like this.

They checked my IP and they said it is fine

The domain provider just reply just came through and here is there reply in summary
I have checked your domain's whois & you have updated the nameservers of your domain on 2018-10-02 to the following:
ns1[dot]bluehost[dot]com
ns2[dot]bluehost[dot]com

And your nameservers are already updated at Verisign (.COM Registry). And you can verify it from their whois website: https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?my website.com

Moreover, I've even that DNS settings by pinging it & also checking on MXtoolbox, your domain is already pointing to bluehost perfectly from our end. Please refer here: https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?

Your ISP controls your IP, they may be able to assign you one, or simply go to your modem, release DHCP, see if you can change your MAC address, renew DHCP and hopefully you have a new IP

when i said DNS, i'm talking about your computer's DNS servers from your ISP.... not for your website

are you able to ping your domain? domain's ip is correctly visible from your side? able to ping it?

Everything you're saying points to your OWN website blocking your own IP, nothing to do with domain, nothing to do with hosting. for a quicker fix, log in with a different ip and disable your wordfence/firewall/etc or whitelist your own ip

Can you you help me check ?

Are there any errors if you open a command prompt and run "ping yourdomain.com"?
Does the IP reported by "nslookup yourdomain.com" match the IP reported by MX Toolbox? (https://mxtoolbox.com/DNSLookup.aspx)

I had same problem, ISP will fix this for you, just tell them what is your problem.

Thanks every one, It finally worked. I suspect my domain register (a start up company) cos when I told them I'll move my domain to bluehost just in case, within some minutes it started working.

The problem is back again what do I do guys should I transfer the domain?

Here is what I get

I have experienced this same problem before with a WordPress site. There were two things that fixed this for me, fully clearing my cache and waiting a day. The fact that the site loaded and then you had the same problem, makes me think you loaded the new version of the page and then used cache for inner pages you tried. Clear everything and go from there. I really don't think it has anything to do with you ISP and nothing todo with them being a startup.

If the site works for everyone else, it's probably a firewall issue with your site, or possibly an issue with your PC/ISP.

If you follow these directions, it'll give us a much better idea of where to look for the problem.

Also, what registrar are you using? Most startup registrars are just reselers with a hefty markup, so it might be worth the money it to switch (though I seriously doubt that would fix your current issue).

The problem could be plugin related (Are you using the Loginizer plugin?). Try disabling plugins one by one to find out the source of the problem (just login to your cpanel/any panel, go to wp-content/plugins and just add an extra symbol at the end of the plugin's folder (eg. loginizer > loginizer1)).

dude you dont have problem, your ISP have problem, that is the reason why somewhere site can be open and you cant open it.
