Hey guys,

Just want some help I want to get the foundations of my on page SEO correct first.

I know this may be amature but I am racking my brain trying to figure it out.

Note website only 2 months old. No authority no traffic.
I want to build a castle but my foundations are weak.

Problems:

Shopify product page urls are too long
Q)Does anyone know how to reduce and SEO optimise Shopify long urls?
e.g hu=ps://shgk'.com/collections/best-sellers/products/kuiwis-rowdy-crowd-nz-kids-best-seller

Removing the Collection section "Collection/best-sellers"

Change in Meta-Data
Scenerio: I have built 262 product pages. They are published and many indexed. I wanted to redo the urlsmost importantly and also, titles, metas etc to be more SEO optmised and shorter and was advised you would need to create a whole lot of 301's for each.

I do not see the point in the 301's if the indexed pages have no traffic or authority.

I am kinda at cross roads as want to add a further lot of products but do want to do so without getting this right first.

Q) Being a new website in development with no traffic I would of thought despite being crawled and indexed with poor SEO, now that I have changed the urls and meta data the old ones would just drop off index after a recrawl with updated urls and meta data?

Q) Or do I have to use Google Search Console and remove all products for example and then have it recrawled?

Most information seems to be in relation to older pages with authority or backlink juice you want pass on. This was just a muppet puppet mistake on setup and want to rectify before moving forward.

Thanks Gengis :)

Sent you a PM, I can walk you through the process

Simple checklist to follow:
1. Crawlable, accessible URLs
2. Keyword research
3. Investigate the SERP to find what Google believes to be relevant to the searcher
4. Have the most authoritative person create content that will serve the searcher's goal
5. Publish compelling title tags and meta descriptions
6. Intelligently employ primary, secondary, and related keywords
