I don't have much experience with SEO and a lot of people say that it's not worth setting it up at all. I'm working for a startup - Helprace , it's a customer service software. If you know about customer service software, they are a weird bunch when it comes to SEO. Especially when they have communities or a knowledge base.
Zendesk and GetSatisfaction thrive on having communities that are drive traffic back to their domain. After some time their domains become desirable from the SEO standpoint.
I was reading up on what GetSatisfaction was doing back in the day when they were starting up.
They were making communities on behalf of companies without the company's consent. Think of opening a company-centric forum and kick starting it with content. (ie. Comcast, AT&T, United Airlines, etc) In the end, it worked out for them. So we are thinking of doing something similar. Thoughts?
