Thanks again for having me, and looking forward to learning everything I can. I am sorry if this a frowned upon introductory post, or if its in the wrong spot I just figured that if I am honest about my skill level, experiences & goals it would be easier to find help and be a productive member of this community that hopefully can give back to someone else in the future.
I will admit I have half heartedly attempted campaigns in the past, but never got off the ground because the little knowledge I have wasn't enough to ask the right questions or even know what to research to get passed/around the "get rich" scams piggy backing off the Affiliate Internet Marketing industry. So here I am again knocking on the door of the BHW think tank. If there is someone out there that can help guide me or point me in the right direction I would be forever grateful! I know your time is your money and your ideas are your livelihood, but maybe there is a campaign you tried that made you money, but not the money you desire. Maybe I could try that idea, or campaign on a royalty or backend payback or whatever you think is fair.
Because once I see a little glimmer of success I have no problem investing countless hours, and time into making it better or bigger. For example I found (in my opinion) great success with one campaign that literally just fell into my lap by a fellow MMORPG member that made me $200/month starting out and close to $6,000/month towards the end. Before he told me what to do I had never heard of affiliate marketing, I had no idea things like this existed, and never really got any training from him other than post here & reply to the emails with this reply but insert your CJ link here (he didn't even have me make a hyperlink--was just some long "mission launch sequence" affiliate link that I got from my CJ dashboard). The only thing that gave me any drive to follow through with this is because my first post & round of replies generated 2 conversions with CJ. I will admit I have no idea what a CPA, CR, CTC, or CTA is. Or most likely any of the other acronyms I am going to find on here. But with those 2 conversions on day1 gave me a drive to perfect it to perform better. I took a simple post on craigslist, reply with 1 sentence sell offer with trashy looking affiliate link too creating full ads on CL with pics & details, full template email with hyperlinks to eventually a shorter email with hyperlink to a website I built that had multiple similar product links, logos, banners, reviews & product description. This was obviously before CL became a cesspool of daily scams, but still required me to purchase hundreds of prepaid phones because sometimes my CL account would be banned or ghosted after only a couple days. And all of this was a free campaign except the cost of prepaid phones and hosting which I didn't mind investing because I seen first hand that it worked and the $9 tracfone was going to return $2-300. Unfortunately though this came to an end because CL got so smart/strict I couldn't get one post to go live back then. I now know the way around that, but the campaign I was running was also for free credit report scores which
A)isn't even an advertiser on CJ anymore
B)every bank, credit card out there gives you your score for free
C)CreditKarma exists
I am currently reading Basstrackerboats thread on how he made $189 in one day using facebook. Seems like a very informative thread, and has already giving me alot of ideas on how to start my own campaign unfortunately CJ has changed so much since I was using it daily I barely know how to navigate around the new dashboard. Yes I only have an account at CJ, and yes with a little time I am sure I can figure out the dashboard navigation. I used to have a clickbank & amazon, but I never converted anything with them. My only success so far at any conversions was promoting free credit reports which is a dead concept nowadays. I've tried blogging, I've tried creating a fake landing pages that were simply a giant picture hyperlink that took you to the real website I was promoting (that got me a call from an attorney), I've tried handing out flyers for security companies that have my "paypercall CJ number" in bad neighborhoods, I've tried USAToday inserts, I've tried an Amazon store, I've tried selling streamed movies of my own collection (6,200 movies) at $1/movie, I've tried FB advertising for games, fanduel, various other commission based sign up your friends type junk, and all I have received from my thousands of hours & $$ is 3 websites that get no traffic and no conversions since 2010. The bottome line is without craigslist I have no idea how to push traffic to what I am doing, and I have no idea what to push on craigslist, and at the end of the day CL was all manual which I dont mind working in the trenches but from what I am reading on BTB's post automated is the way to go.
I am hoping someone hear can help me find replacement concept.
