ALERT: "VA QUAKE BREAKING NEWS!

The USGS has determined that the epicenter of the VA earthquake was in a graveyard just outside of DC. The cause appears to be all of our Founding Fathers rolling over in their graves." ..

I live in VA this is my second Quake I have felt, the last one was in early morning last year. :) lol

I was in the 94 Northirdge quake. Brutal. Everything off every shelf, cupboard and cabinet with doors was all over the floor. 300 feet of blockwall leveled. Just up the street and apartment building lost it's first two floors. Down the road there we propane tanks blasting off left and right at mobile home park. The whole park went up in flames. Telephone poles, block walls and debrise on the street, broken gas and water lines everywhere. It fealt like the apocalypse.

We don't get the opportunity to experience many EQs in the southeast (I didn't feel the most recent one). The only real disasters I've been through is tornadoes, which come like rain in the summer time. Recently road through an EF4, but I still think I'd probably flip my pancakes if I ever experienced a real earthquake. :p

About 10-15 years ago I was staying in northern Italy on the mountains, and an earthquake hit hard, I can't remember the magnititude of the actualy earthquake, but it lasted over 20 seconds, but it didnt seem like it.

There were tremors all through the night, and the next day we travelled to the nearest town which was almost on the epicentre and it was quite bad.

First time for me yesterday.. scared the shit out of me.

When I was a kid - I remember flower pots falling and everything shaking like crazy

I have lived my whole life (52 years old) in Southern California so I have felt to many to count.

I live on an active volcano, I feel EQ's every day, mostly less than 3.0

Closes thing to earthquake is my fat cat jumping on the bed and bypassing train... Never felt earthquake and would be nice to experience like hurricanes.

Yeh I've felt one.....when the missus fell off the bed!

ive lived in socal most of my life ... earthquakes are sorta like roll over grumble and go back to sleep.. i cant remember the last time a earthquake was actually interesting .. may be northridge? i lived sorta close and i was out doors and i watched the earth literally look like rolling waves ...

Living in California we have had our share for sure. I really remember 89 when Al Michaels was getting ready to call the World Series game and the last thing I remember hearing was "Oh my god, it's an earthquake..." then everything went dead and started shaking...Scary stuff especially when I felt like I was on top of it and we lived 90 minutes away from it...

yeah, not a big one though... feels the same as if you were a bit drunk

Never, although it happened around and most of people felt it except some including me !!
