So I run a small surfboard business in So Cal -
I have been using instagram for sometime to get more exposure for my company and it works great - just following / unfollowing and gaining followers and using unfollow apps. I have worked sales through people that I follow and have discovered my company. I know I am not really related to BHW but I used to sell real estate and mortgages and would BH lots of stuff to get leads for my business.
Recently on Instagram I was approached by a digital magazine that said if you hashtag your photos with "XYZ" hashtag they will appear on the front page of our website and will give your brand additional exposure. So I did and then check the site and there where all the photos I tagged with hashtag "XYZ" - so this is great, since people visiting this website may see my photos in the feed, check them out and discover my surfboard brand.
Does anyone know how to discover more hashtags that feed popular sites? Useful tags in my case could be anything sports related, but I imagine this could be a crazy good tool for lots of different niches?
Say you sold lipstick and you tagged your post "glamourmagazine" and your lipstick photo turned up in their feed on their website? seems like that would be beneficial.
Just wondering if there is a simple way to discover the proper hashtags?
