Hey guys, just wondering because is it a big deal if Askimet blacklists your site or is it nothing to worry about? I'm also wondering because some people are selling auto approve sites, and im wondering whats the point of that if you are askimet blacklisted?

Maybe I'm a little confused I'm not sure, in summary I want to know if askimet has 'killed spamming' and if so whats the best way to go about getting heaps of link juice to my 1 year old domain.

Thanks heaps:)

Hi there,

I won't say I know my stuff regarding Akismet, but I don't think it has killed spamming at all. What you should always do is do a 'trial spam' and collect all auto approve comment URLs and then spam them again with your actual website - so that you're only blasting sites that don't have moderators approving comments.

This should ensure you're off of any Akismet spam list.

If your site is banned though, then there is probably little point to use these lists on that specific site. Doesn't stop you from making a good web 2.0 with some content (or more than just one) and then link back to your banned site from those, and then blast all of those new 2.0's instead and the juice should flow over anyway.

All the best.

Akismet is the antispam system used to protect the blogs of just 1 CMS - wordpress.

How can it possibly have killed spamming?

Broaden your horizons and look at new platform types. You never know, you might even get a link that isn't in your name + set to nofollow.

Hey Thanks alot for the replies, just wondering if you get blacklisted does that mean you can't post on auto-approve wordpress blogs or just the moderated ones?

If you get blacklisted by akismet, then you'll be banned from posting to blogs which use akismet :)
