    Has anyone tried the new WP Spin plugin? It uses the Best Spinner API to spin and re-spin content on a scheduled basis. If you have it, could you tell me if its possible to select general spin options by category, or can you only set sitewide and individual post options?

    well i bought it, so i'll answer my own question in case anyone else is interested... you cannot select spinning targets by category. Its either all the site or individual pages. Seems to work pretty well as a first impression.

    Basically you paid $37 and that`s it? Do you think it`s worth the money?

    Well, its a little early to say as the sitewide spins on the site i am testing on are scheduled into the future, but here is a fuller first impression:

    The aim of this wordpress plugin is to refresh content by replacing article text with spun text at predetermined intervals. It is a 'turn it on and let it run' plugin, which will (hopefully) require no ongoing maintenance.

    1. you can set an article to just spin once, spin each time the page is viewed or spin up to 10 times scheduled into the future.
    2. it uses favourites from the best spinner api to provide a selectable number of alternative phrases in the article on wordpress. the wordpress doc is replaced with the spun format text {||}
    3. the plugin serves versions of the spun text according to the options selected in 1.

    it is very simple, with few options. having said that, it should prove to be a very powerful addition to an autoblog armoury. I am still testing its compatibility with other autoblog plugins that I use, but i have not seen any obvious failings yet.

    a couple of further things to note:

    • you need to have a best spinner license to use the api. if you buy the license from the sales success page it is available for 47 usd (or thereabouts).
    • you can install it on as many blogs as you like, so the price will get quickly diluted.
    In conclusion, I think it is a good buy. I would like to see some additional features such as the ability to create category wide settings and a setting enabling articles to be spun when loaded as well as according to the schedule. Perhaps these will be future enhancements.

    So when it just spin once, does it save as that article indefinitely? I really don't like it when it spins every time the page refresh.
