Just what the title says. If you've used the oxygen theme before do you think it's better than elementor?
Thanks.

You got it wrong, Oxygen is not a THEME it´s not even a page builder it´s a THEME BUILDER!

Whenever you activate it all the active themes on your WordPress installation will become disabled by default.

And, in my opinion, it´s better than any other page builder on the market.

This is the closest you´ll ever be to building a custom theme from scratch without having to write thousands of lines of codes.

Why is not as popular as Elementor or Divi?

Because it "imposes" a rather steep learning curve.

This is because when it started, it was a tool built by web developers and for web developers but, over time, its UI has suffered a lot of improvements in order to make it more user-friendly for non-web developers/designs.

I´ve written my reviews on the tool myself here in different threads...

I hope this helps, cheers!

Oxygen might be more optimized and perform better than Elementor but for me, it doesn't worth the struggle to create pages with it when Elementor is way more friendly and easier.

If you can make a theme with Oxygen, you can optimize Elementor to improve performance and speed, and if you can do it, Elementor beats Oxygen all day long.

Elementor is way more friendly and easier.
Elementor is built for that!

Oxygen is NOT!

As stated above, initially, Oxygen was built by web developers for a web developer but, over time, they have implemented some great improvements to its UI to the extent that now many themes have copied Oxygen UI to offer a built-in builder.

A clear example of it is the Bricks theme.

I´ve worked and optimized dozens of websites for speed and performance build with Elementor and it´s a pain in the butt.

There´s no comparison when it comes to measuring the loading speed on a site build with Oxygen vs Elementor (or any page builder).

For the simple reason with page builders, when customizing a site, you´re inserting/injecting code on top of the code of the theme rather than customizing a site by building it from scratch with no other code behind it.

The only thing that comes close is building/customizing a site using Gutenberg or writing the code from scratch yourself.

There are other platforms that offer an online builder similar to Elementor (drag and drop feature) where you can build an extremely fast-loading website like Webflow, Bootstrap, and Live Canvas.

Well, for me nothing is as friendly, yet complex as Elementor. You can build very dynamic sites with it and it won't take you weeks.
And I managed to pass all the core vitals and get a 94 score on mobile and 100 on desktop with Elementor.
I'm sure some sites built with Oxygen have poorer performance than this.

wait...wut!?

Can you make up your mind?

You can build very dynamic sites with it and it won't take you weeks.
Again, I agree Elementor is far more user-friendly than Oxygen but it won´t take weeks for you to build dynamic sites on Oxygen.

Now, you´re just exaggerating just to make your point valid.

And I managed to pass all the core vitals and get a 94 score on mobile and 100 on desktop with Elementor.
I have as well, I never set it´s NOT possible to fully optimize a site´s performance/core web vitals if it was built with Elementor.

My original point is that you won´t often have to worry about optimizing the performance of a site build with Oxygen as much in comparison to one build with Elementor.

I'm sure some sites built with Oxygen have poorer performance than this.
Again, making generalizations just to make your point valid.

Taking a marginal number of cases to explain a much larger behavior it´s a poor debate tactic.

It´s like saying, if I take a diet pill and I don´t lose weight, it must mean that pill doesn´t work regardless if 100s of others have actually lost weight with it.

Botton line, I think Oxygen is the best and most cost-effective website builder on the market, and before you jump off your chair let me set the record straight with you by saying I DON´T think choosing/using Elementor is a bad choice. Especially for beginners!

It is true that Oxgen has a much steeper learning curve in comparison to Elementor but that doesn´t mean you need coding, programming, or a web development degree from a prestigious university in order to properly use it to build highly professional, fully functional, and performance-optimized websites with it...That is just NOT true!

It is also true you can build the same sites on Elementor for less struggle but, it will take you more work to optimize those sites for performance in comparison to a site built with Oxygen.

Are there sites built with Oxygen that don´t have a 94 performance score like yours? I am sure there must be but, again, you´re taking a marginal case to try and justify a much bigger sample size just to validate your point.

For that I can say, I am 110% sure there are faaaar more sites built with Elementor that perform worse than a site built with Oxygen.

In fact, I dare you to run a test and build the same exact site using Oxygen and Elementor and measure their performance without tweaking anything on either site.

Run that test and come back here and share the results and we can talk some more.

On the other hand, Oxygen offers one of the best pricing structures on the market...

  • Lifetime deal
  • Unlimited license
  • WooCommerce Integration
  • Gutenberg Block Builder - Once you build a site you can export it as a Gutenberg block and import it into a client´s site and they don´t even need to have Oxygen installed on their end.
  • Hundreds of pre-made templates
All that for a one-time payment of $229!!

Lastly, I see won´t get anywhere and I hate going in circles so this conversation has stopped having value for me.

So, cheers and gl!

Chill dude, I just gave my personal opinion on this.
I said Elementor is better for me, not for everyone. I haven't tried to debate anything and whether Elementor or Oxygen is better is more like a matter of preference I guess.

Have tried elementor, its not for me..Tried Oxygen, just what i need. Just must say, im complete newbie. But thats personal choice and my opinion
