Has anyone done a case study on wordpress vs static site

I've searched and couldn't find anything. I personally don't like wordpress. To me it puts too much code on the pages. I'm talking about MNS sites, not blogs or other types of sites. Which is better? Wordpress or a static site (remember like xsitepro)? Does anyone have any opinions on this in as far as:

Ranking in the serps
CTR with ads*nse or any other network
Bounce rate
Page rank (I know none of you care about pr)

I own nearly a thousand sites that DON'T use WordPress or any SQL-based CMS system.

You won't experience any ranking differences between using/not using (although you do need to be sure that you've set your site up correctly with basic on-page factors, which WP does for you most of the time,) but you will experience a lot less heart-ache...

NO security issues and constant updates; hacking is virtually non-existent. Incredibly quick page-load times, even from slow hosts. A much more 'portable' site for moving. They're a massive bonus with C Class hosting or any highly-shared hosting plans as the resources they use are minimal, so even when everyone else's sites are running like a dog, yours is still happily clipping along, because of the lack of SQL Server access, and the massive decrease in page-size etc.

Thanks for the reply's. I think I will use my own html site, or another cms. Maybe I'll customize an article directory script, I've used plenty of those in the past. I just heard go*gle loves wordpress sites and wondered if it would make any difference. Anyways, thanks again.

well, i know that for some reason google likes wordpress quite a bit. At least from my experience.

I hate being hacked when I use WP. So right now, I'm using alot of static stuff.

I have both static sites and WP sites and there is no difference in ranking for them at all. My first sites were all html but everything these days is WP just because it is easier.

Also, remember it is easier to sell wordpress sites.

In terms of ranking , I do not think it matters.

Html sites load quicker.... much quicker.... there is no database overhead like wordpress.

Wordpress for internet marketing is hard to beat.
so many plugins especially for marketing....

Wordpress security will always be more vulnerable than a custom made setup.

Wordpress give the users convenience and expandability without having to know any coding.... but that comes a price...... more overhead and slower loading times.

WP/Any CMS is easier in publishing/editing than a static site. If you want to publish 100 articles you will have to make 100 copies of the static page and add content to them and manually place html tags to format the articles then edit the home/category pages to include a link to the new article. Talk about hours of work? But with wp you can import the 100 articles in a snap with a plugin and job done in a minute. WP is also web based so no messing with ftp when you want to make a post through your mobile.

SEO wise, Any on page optimization can be don on both wp and static sites so no difference should be here.

Wordpress = instant google love. Helps with all the on-site stuff you need too
