Don't you guys find it unfair that you're (i suppose) working hard all the day and maybe for years to start earning a stable income while others use an easy way (cheap) to make money?
Everyone knows what is hard work, for the easy money go to youtube and search for fail compilation, vines, megamix, funny stuffs ...
Most of these videos are made from many tapes/mixes downloaded from YT and simply attached with Windows MM or FL Studio, as you can see a 1 month video makes in average 2M views :), i even tried one yesterday and it took me about 2 hours to make a 1h of 'megamix' with a good looking girl picture in the back (it was my first experience with FLS).
Should i give it a try? or maybe i need to stick with my website because it is safer for the long term (maybe).

Hard work brings luck into your life. I recommend you get your feet wet and try what interests you, but I will tell you one thing, you may just find yourself gravitating towards the "easy" methods and that they are used for a reason: because they make money.

Behind the "easy money" is years of hard work to get to that point...but you still have to have enough IQ to do so.

    edit:

BTW if you think they are only making compilations and that's it, puff 2M views, then IM is not for you.

    OP, maybe do both.

I would not stick with one method, process or idea when building a revenue stream from internet marketing and I would almost never recommend anyone do that either.

Many know I build large sites, rank them and generate revenue from the traffic in a passive income way. I also do media buys, build smaller sites and target a different demographic, generate revenue from Social Media, own a handful of online services for web site owners, have my hands in a bunch of SEO services directed to specific industries and invest in ideas that others bring to life.

The idea is to broaden a base of income that falls inside my business models and can be replicated and scaled and work with other like minded people that have off setting skill sets in the process.

You can certainly do the same.

BTW, it is all hard work but hard work is the yeast that raises the dough.

I study law and a lot of people in the area is like "in earning 20k a month and I really studied just 1 year". Brazil is the country with the most law students and a lot of laws... can you even imagine the competition? something crazy like 500 students trying to be 1 federal judge... They like to feel better about themselves that way, but ofc its a lie. Cut the gibberish and work hard already. Dont believe the hype.

YouTube and AdSense can be a home run, I've seen it myself over and over. People making easy money just uploading videos that doesn't even take that long to create. Maximum time I'd say about 2 hours for videos that I'm thinking of.

But it's infinitely better to focus on some long term money like having your own website.

There's a limit to views and ad revenue, and to be honest from what I've seen with people.. 500,000 views equating to $500 is really nothing if you think about it.

Imagine 500,000 people walking in to a department store, would that store only leave with $500? It's a rip off for yourself to only think about AdSense earnings. All that traffic could be put to much better use. So having your own website is like the golden ticket. Whether it's a blog or authority website. Put your energy in to that for the big money with affiliate marketing. Of course you've got to be a salesman too though.

Also don't over complicate anything. It's funny to me how my old class mates are going to college for 8 or more years of their lives to study (their asses off) and to come out and only make $200,000 per year. While I see some people here making 3 times that in a month, having studied 1/3 of the time -- sometimes even less (working a lot less too). Internet opened MANY doors for people.

lol people who make money aren't hard workers. They are just smart. I'm excluding suits in their cush jobs. It's the laymen who work hard and are constantly in a rut.

    Hard work doesn't guarantee anything.

Sure, because everyone is born with experience on IM. it doesnt require hard work to master something.
    Being lazy guarantee nothing
You can have a good idea or be smart, but if you don't know how to do stuff it doesnt mean anything

Take this from a chess player with 1900-2000 ELO.

You can be completely lazy and still make money. Just like hard working could make you money. Neither guarantee anything. Have you ever seen the average lotto winner? It's always some retired shmuck who has nothing else to do in life but die.

I can't stop you from approaching things in that way, and if you get big I'll be truly glad. That's a good thing about life, sometimes you don't have straight answers

People that had a good education tend to earn more money... and thats kind of a big deal to disconsider just like that

I worked my ass off for a couple months trying to solve the YouTube & AdSense game, now I can spend 1-2 hours a week and have everything done for that week. GENERALLY, it takes a whole lot of hard work to know how to generate "the easy money." That's just how I view it. Working harder generally isn't the same as working smarter. It's just whatever works for you man.

It's not about being born with IM experience. It's not even about being smart. It's about what you're focused on.

I like chess don't get me wrong. And I can play fairly well (thanks to prison). But what does chess have to do with making money?

It's a great game sure. A symbol of war. But it's still JUST A GAME. It would be like if your life dream was to be a professional NFL player but you wasted all this time trying to better your golf score.

If your life dream is to make a lot of money, and you're focused on a stupid Elo score, you're clearly playing the wrong game. There is no single ultimate sport or game as competitive as business. No other game where you can compete in an arena against millions of people you will never even see.

Either way, you talked about FL Studio and taking 2 hours to make a 1 hour megamix. I know FL Studio inside and out. Bought it when version 3 came out. Have memorized most of The FL Studio Bible by now. I've been producing music for over a decade. I make money in a music subniche. You talk about taking 2 hours to max a mix? Some of the mixes I put together took me like 3 weeks just to do. And I didn't upload them for money at the time I just did it cause I love music. Some of those videos are like 6 years old now and I think just 1 has a couple hundred thousand views. Most of the others barely have any.

My point is, what you did was useless if all you did was put a mix together and upload it to YT. Back in the day you could blast a video with 1 million views (which I never did to mix videos cause I found a better way to monetize music). But the point is you gotta promote the video. And only promote it IF you know damn well for certain without a shadow of a doubt it's a solid mix and people are gonna like it.

If you just grabbed a bunch of your own favorite songs, without really doing any homework, then that video will probably just sit there not doing much of anything. I'd forget about it if I was you. Come back to it a few months from now and check how many dislikes it has. If it has a lot leave it be. If it gets any attention, consider promoting it.

All in all that was a really random idea. Knowing what I know now about both music and marketing now, I wouldn't waste another minute making mix videos unless you're gonna take the channel seriously, create awesome mixes on a regular basis, promote your channel, and establish a reputation. And even doing all that I still wouldn't do it cause there's nothing remotely creative or original about the idea.

TLDR - Start writing down business ideas on paper. Research innovative & successful new businesses. Find all the best ideas you can and start filling up scrap paper with these ideas (not just vague ideas but write out specific models). This is how you "stack ammo". I've wrote about this before drawing comparisons to how Eminem writes his lyrics. How I have a shoe box full of scribblings and random money making ideas. 90% of the ideas are utter garbage. But there are hundreds of good ideas and dozens of great ideas I know can easily make money. Some I've already put into action. Others I'll put into action in the future. One last thing. Don't type this on the pc. Write them all down with a pen. Store the box under your bed. It will be more intimate that way. Every night I go to bed I see that shoebox and fall asleep thinking of all these great ideas (in the moment). Every now and then I gotta turn the light back on just to write down something before I fall asleep. It's an awesome way to stay motivated.
