I am having same issue. I am starting to think that its better to build another site than to try and come back from bad links. My reason is they say to get rid of bad links, but if you have no control over those links you can not get rid of them. If you cant get rid of them how are you going to bounce back? So I took the loss and am starting to rank duplicate sites of my money makers.
thanks - the new penguin update forces us to be all more careful
Great info
Thanks Extrawinner for such an insightful guide! I would also like to say one thing to the people who are saying its high time to ditch IM & making people confused.Guys this is not the first time Google tried to dry our online income source with BS updates & this sure ain't gonna be the first time we fought against those updates & came back in top again. No matter how flawless Google thinks they are, there always be some flaws on there algorithm & there will be people like us who will find it & make the full use of it.So stop whining & start cracking

Great post, when you're hiring your 'noob' how do you address anchor text?
Tier 2 wikis and stuff should be linking to Tier 1 links or directly to the monetization website?
