So, Amazon fucked up!
A commission of 3% is just not feasible, and this is the reason for all the shit -

" Amazon doesn't need your fucking visitors "
Fucking Visitors -- The people who don't give a shit about you, because you never built a customer-centric business in the first place.

So what's the solution -
  1. Cry on the shoulder of your girlfriend
  2. Go get a corporate job
  3. Find affiliate programs other than Jeff Bezos [Oh, I mean Amazon] - https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/get-kickass-amazon-associates-alternatives-for-frustrated-affiliate-marketers.1221283/
  4. Find another content angle - Instead of working on "Best Toaster for Idiots" - build content around "Brand X50 Review". This way you can directly link to the manufacturer's website [ and may earn more $$]
  5. Start focusing on info based content + Pinterest - Going this route will give you one extra traffic source, more authentic-looking website, better visitor retention, Ad Space monetization using Mediavine & Adthrive
  6. Stop working on Amazon Sites - Try lead gen, Adsense, Private affiliate offers [read the para below before going all in]
The Actual Solution - Have Options!

Yes, with amazon focused sites, you actually don't have options. Because most of the people searching for "best of" keywords actually assume that the links inside will redirect them to Amazon.

So how can you create options - Add a price comparison table - compare prices on Amazon Vs Walmart Vs Ebay Vs Target [there are many plugins + themes]

NOTE - I am currently working on an Amazon affiliate site, and that's why I actually understand the bullshit that's going on. And I promise you, Amazon is not going to be my monetization strategy for any site I will start from now.

I would love these people to spill there insights on this thread - @WebMinati @splishsplash @MisterF @davids355 @BassTrackerBoats @Nerva @Topiano @TheVigilante @BlogPro @SEOMadHatter @Holzr @jamie3000 @Meddie @Jayder @namhq89 @PHPInjected

Best Regards,

Thanks for sharing this informative post. However Amazon affiliate program has not been part of my income portfolio since my many years making money online. They have gotten greedy and can do without affiliates promoting products on amazon.

How to get a girlfriend tho?

jk

It's time to test new Affiliate Programs instead of crying guys

It depends on how you act / react to this news.

There's no confirmed announcement I have seen that states this is a permanent commission cut. If anyone has proof of this, feel free to add a screenshot.

The C/S staff member who told someone it was not just while the CoronaVirus was in play, was probably the last person on the ladder who'd be told this.

Think about things logically here. Amazon stopped a lot on suppliers sending things into FBA warehouses unless it was classed as essential products.
As people are stuck at home and a lot of stores are closed, they have to order online for some products. Where is the go-to marketplace? Amazon.

I've seen my figures increase a lot this past few weeks, and people are buying more and more food stuff, vitamins etc.

A lot of products are selling out on Amazon, stocks are low and slower getting replaced. It could be argued therefore that Amazon have enough traffic coming in as it is.

Advantages of keeping using Amazon, it's only a 24 hour cookie but you earn on everything someone buys after going through 1 of your links.
Once on Amazon, people often buy something, either in place of what they were looking for or in addition to that item.
Amazon converts so well, plain and simple. They are a trusted brand and deliver globally.

Do Walmart or Target deliver globally? Not that I am aware of.
Neither of these alternative sites have the wide range of products available.

Will the commissions be raised back after the Corona Virus and lockdown etc are ended? Hopefully / possibly. However, until there is an official announcement from Associates ( not just from a CS person ) we'll have to wait and see.

This is true I'm seeing only organic food sales in my stats.

or, build a dropshipping website where you can link to the same products you had in your affiliate site. raise prices in 15% and bank more harder

I will never complain when it comes to amazon, they're always making me money, wether its FBA, associates, or even their stock which i bought a lot of (And plan to buy a lot more) lol

If you already have traffic in a certain niche or for a certain product, i am sure that the product can be sourced via other affiliate programs, or some dropshipping hook.

It might be hard if you have a big number of products, but anyway you should only replace the ones which get good traffic.

Use the rest as an "open door" to amazon, both for your users and for you to get back there some day. and change supplier for your high volume products = earn more per sale.

I did ton of "personal outreach" to find dropshippers which are not AliExpress in the past, it is possible to give good quality service without amazon.

I was aiming to make an authority site in home niche, got to 300/day.

I guess I will be back to 100/day now.

Going to add local seo stuff and mediavine to monetize the traffic. Lets see what happens.

Home niche aff. Programs outside Amazon suck bad.

Might try this though:

What other income streams you have other than Amazon ?
