I tend to agree. I'm also skeptical about the legality, so I'd avoid it as well.

I doubt someone will give you access to his GA, specially big site owners. They are not that stupid.

Not sure anyone was upset.
Just leery that that approach would work well, if not cause one greater trouble than any upside would merit, given other methods available.
Perhaps this would be a better message to have included...

I think there was a lot to learn from the comments in regards to how to get the same information you are after.
Instead of removing the guide, why not replace it with a better guide.
