Wan´t to start on the cheap side on a small project, here is how I do it for less then $15 a year per project website including a very fast CDN.
If the project turns profitable, I move the website to a much faster solution, so this is just to get the website going for cheap, no big loss if it does not work out.
First I register an account at HostKoala for $5 a year (smallest package) keep the websites on different packages to get as much server resources as possible, I never buy a package and install multiple domains/WordPress sites on it, then I combine that with a CDN from BunnyCDN for a minimum fee of $10 a year this way you will have a great, fast solution for very cheap that does make it easier on your cheap hosting and makes your visitors and Google happy.
I use it myself on my smaller projects based in EU and Netherlands server and have 100% up-time with load speeds of around 250-600 ms on a good optimized WordPress install for me, may be different for someone else. Chose a server near your visitors and where BunnyCDN has a POP in the same area.
Begin with this combination, and you get started for only $15 in total per year. It get´s cheaper when you already have a BunnyCDN account, because you can add as many domains/websites you want there, including your own cdn subdomain like cdn.example.com.
Hope someone have some use of this information .. =)

Combine this with a subscription form @Festinger ´s WordPress vault and your off on a cheap start.
