guidance to getting backlinks on wiki???

I'm doing really well with getting backlinks but I feel like I need more then just web2.0 profiles, social, rss, and bookmarking sites.

I keep hearing "wiki" this, "wiki" that so I thought I'd see what the big deal is.

Does anyone have a guide to getting wiki backlinks? I'm a complete nooby when it comes to wiki since I've never used it before.

I tried creating a wiki page, added a backlink to my profile and it was gone for spamming so Obviously I'm missing something.

edit - found a wiki bot. Looks useful but need to learn how to keep my backlinks on wiki.

I am curious about the effectiveness of "wiki"s as well. Found a guy that will give me 50,000 wikis for $5.... I feel like 50,000 of anything will nuke a site these days.
