Can anyone please explain how guest posting increases ranking and delivers traffic to a website. What are the things that one should keep in mind for an affordable ordering. How fast it shows the change in the ranking?

This is another question, and the common myth is that it does. The opposite is true! Traffic categorically does not affect rankings. ... But they do not use traffic as a metric for search results for the simple reason that it's too noisy and too easily manipulated.

it affected my rankings last year when I tested a fake traffic gig purchased from Fiverr. It shot 2 of my low competition keywords from pages 5/6 to page 2 for the duration of the campaign, so please, only speak about what you know

I agree in a way, if you're talking about CTR manipulation. Direct traffic shouldn't really change the ranking. Never tried it to be honest.

What I have tried is to manipulate the CTR and the bounce rate. Just searched in Google for a keyword and then went to my page via the search. Of course, lingered a bit on it and clicked a few other pages. Think that you should not overdo it though, maybe first raise a few percent.

I'm not sure if this works for keywords that are not on the first page. Since keywords on the 5 / 6 page normally have a CTR of 0.0%, I actually thought that Google recognizes and devalues. But if it worked for you - nice to know.

Sites where anyone can post content just generally don't have a really high value anymore (mostly). One of the reasons is that these pages are spammed with links (high obl) with automated tools. But that is not different on some guest posts farms.
Good content on a good page with high authority can be ranked easier. Many are aiming for this.

I wasn't trying to manipulate the CTR, I just wanted to check whether there was a correlation between traffic and rankings. And back then there was... well, for low competition keywords anyway.

It helps in ranking.
