how do they know its guest post? and what's wrong with that anyway?

If done right, just looks like another backlink from a website.

Backlinks are exactly how you are supposed to build backlinks, very white hat.

Depends where the guest post is done. If you do it on a low level, weak domain the backlink won't count much. But iff you do it on an authority domain, the backlink will matter more for your website.
