This is an ingenious method that I will have to look into more. The only thing I was thinking that may be an obstacle is if a savvy dentist can figure out that they could run local PPC campaigns for less than the cost of the monthly ad, would this dissuade them from using our services?

It's a great method but don't forget that proposals that are dynamic can pull in 1-8K a month for just one client for the same amount of work

I been doing this in other niches and often times you can go back to one of the clients and offer to sell them the site of $xx,xxx and usually get a few bits. That way they can just take the other Doctors off the site and have all the leads.

Great method.

You can also joint venture with them and charge a percentage of sales that they made coming from the site.

The only thing that may be an obstacle is your thinking there are obstacles to this very simple plan to make a ton of money!

If you find a dentist that can set up a PPC campaign on his own...or even tell you want PPC means...I would be absolutely gobstruck.

They don't cover this stuff in dental school!

The whole thing about internet/offline marketing consulting is that ALMOST NO ONE has even heard of this stuff, and FEWER THAN THAT have any idea how it works.

They want RESULTS, translates to CUSTOMERS.

Period.

End of obstacles.

IMHO, this has got to be one of the most fundamentally sound plans that I have seen in awhile. Will certainly implement and put my SEO skill to use. Thanks given!

Yeah, I'd be shocked as well if some dentist had some PPC skills. :) But, plenty of dentists out there to market to. I'd think a small spamming campaign might even work too (with your phone number and address attached to email, of course).

great stuff, I'll have to try this out. How did you go about convincing the dentist that they should pay for your service?

Yes I am interested in how that conversation takes place. In my experiences there is a lot of resistance to sales pitches.

Read what I've written above with regards to an example of what I say. Also you can send them a professional fax, outlinging exactly what you do. Again out source this on elance to someone who knows that they are doing. Then a couple days later follow up with a call to the practice.

What exactly are you giving them though? a banner and a post in the blog about their practice?

thanks, love the idea btw.

This is indeed a very good share. I have been tuning my SEO skills to obtain off-line customers for quite some time. I have more confidence with some of the information you provided here.

One of the eye-openers was when there was discussion about 10-15 people visiting the site per day. We are always consumed with high numbers and I was think how are you going to get $400+ month when you are only getting 10-15 visits. The key is identifying, in dollars and cents, what this translates to for a customer.

That leads me to my question, how do you find out what a potential customer is worth to a client?

just think out the last time your visited an service_provider_here and what your bill was. Last time my wife went to the dentist it was about $2k
