GSA Search Engine Ranker worth it?

When I spin a description for Directory Submission I am getting a character warning that it is too long. The description before spinnin was only about 200-300 words. I think it is picking up all of the characters {| ect. Is it OK to hit ignore when this error come up, anyone see that?

Yep, I get that error, the required description seems very long so I just keep on clicking ignore.
 
Just hit ignore. It will still post your description. It's only a trigger by the program to guide you about the standard practice. Nothing alarming and significant.

Thanks for the tips.
However I have found that when I click all search engines I get less links in those projects. It seems that using google and yahoo from different countries has given me better results.

Anybody who can confirm this or try it as well?

In reference to proxies?
What settings are you guys using? (test proxies) all good/bad, all good only, only newly added?

I use private proxies and instead of only loading in a few keywords per project I will import a list of keywords in my niche. So if I'm in the fitness niche I'll scrape keywords on weight loss, weight training, cardio excercises, etc etc until I have hundreds of keywords, then I'll import them into GSA. As far as my settings go:

Thread Count: 20


  • Skip sites with more than 50 outbound links (checked)
  • Skip sites of PR below 1 and also unknown PR (checked) set to domain PR
  • Pause the project (unchecked)
  • Skip the sites where we posted before on a different link (unchecked)
  • Ask user to and/or external service to fill captcha's (unchecked) Enable custom mode (unchecked)
  • Try to skip creating nofollow backlinks (unchecked)
  • Analyze and post to competitors backlinks (checked)
  • Search Engines (all checked) right click > all
If you want to speed it up even more you can increase the number for "skip sites with more than x amount of links" to a higher number. Also, unchecking the "skip sites with PR below 1" would help bring in a lot more links faster since the software wouldn't have to worry about only posting to PR1 and above. I have these settings because I'm directly linking to a money site.

Also for the site that was used in the case study I posted above, I had the project duplicated. You can duplicate the project by right clicking > modify project > duplicate. Then if you want you can load new keywords into the second project so the software can find different targets to post to. You can even triple and quadruple the project if you really want to.

Rankings: still #30 but bounced around 26-29 for a few days
Backlink count: from 412 indexed to 712

Obviously this isn't very safe, and i'm a bit dissapointed they seem to do very little testing before releasing an update, luckily i only had 1 site running at the moment.

Backlink verification is also completely broken at the moment, it shows verified links where there clearly are none, and the other way around as well :(
This last version is so broken it's not even funny, it's a real shame because i really loved this software, right now i'm forced to close it (for the first time).

Other weirdness like when doing a searchquery, why does every thing have to come to a halt? Why on earth? If i set it to 200 threads, there are ZERO reasons why 199 threads should do nothing to wait for that 1 slow proxy to finish his searchengine query.

If you run 100+ threads you will never be able to stop and shutdown the program properly, ever, you have to use the taskmanager to force close it, at which point (randomly) alot of your settings are not saved.

Really i LOVED this software, but i have no damn clue what they are doing with it, it's a mess at the moment.

after some more testing, basicly anything that involves using multiple urls/pages/anchors is completely bugged aka not working whatsoever.

Im interested in getting this program but does it have a dedicated forum for users to discuss this software? If not, then the Sven needs to open one up!

Also on the site it says "uses SpinnerChief to create none duplicate content." Is there support for SpinChimp?

$99 is steep but it seems worth it though, still, any discount codes flying around? :D

No discount codes that I have seen of and even though the price is higher sven is very fast at releasing updates to add things that get requested and to do just normal bug fixes. Understand that this is still fairly new software and as you will see if earlier posts with new features come new problems and a BIG bug was found, and fixed.

If you need are planning on buying 2 or more licenses there is a bulk discount coupon that sven emails you. So I recommend contacting him if you are needing 2 or more.

I have it, love it and recommend it.

Thanks for the heads up man,

I wasnt planning on buying 2 or more License's I was wondering if I could just use 1 License on at least 2 Computers at the same time? ScrapeJet allows this; then again GSA SER is more powerful though.

Im going to e-mail him and request the SpinChimp inclusion, hopefully he'll add it to the next update!
 
I asked him and he said yes. I have two running diff computers same license. Tried the settings above and i think my submissions picked up, verified not as much in proportion. Still experimenting. But definitley know this is helping me rank some low competition sites.
 
Been following this thread for a while... very insightful.

I'm however having issue with the anchor text left on posts when I view the verified links tab.

This software is leaving all sorts of anchor text, most of which have no relation to what I'm adding into the anchor text field?

Sven says this is not the software's fault, but the platforms on which I'm having to post links on.

For crying out aloud, one of the anchor text left on a post was "porno!"

Now, how can something like this NOT be an issue of the software?

Anyone else getting different results?

One question: Are these weird anchor texts showing up on guestbook posting?

I have noticed this too with the software but on blogs anchors are always correct, but it's true, with other platforms you sometimes get weird anchors. I recommend that you go through a dozen or so of the weird one and just see what other people look like as well. I know that with one type for example there is a little house and when you click that it brings you to my site, however, the anchor is picked up as "home". Just think about how you don't have to worry about diversifying your anchor links in the eyes of G. Honestly the ratio of correct to weird is nothing I worry about as I have way more correct over weird. Agreed, though prono was a back luck of the draw.

This sounds VERY worryingly! Seems as if your anchor text is being changed somehow without you knowing! Only way to know for sure is if other people are having similar problems such as yourself!

Now is this inherit within the program? Is your computer bugged? Is the program bugged? Are the sites your posting to bugged, such that anyone who posts anything their anchor text will be changed on the fly?

I havent yet purchased the program but this perticular issue could sway my purchase to a competing program....hopefully Sven can make himself know and shed some light on this issue!

A dedicated Forum for GSA Products is greatly needed!

There should be option for checking out that GSA wont use relevant keywords it founds to your keywords, then it should not use any other keyword than your own :)

EDIT: i mean there is option to check if you want GSA to use relevant keywords it discovers (relevant in eyes of google, dating = porn when it comes to google)

Actually have moved a site from high 50's to low teens for a 23K exact searches a month KW solely using GSA Search Engine Ranker.
 
I got a couple vps ips banned from GSA proxy checking. Anybody else get this? I added my own source of urls for GSA to check and it turns out one of the sources was a netscan log. GSA then checked these ips in sequence and got the ip flagged.

That is crazy...If you don't mind sharing - what kind of set-up do you have? how many threads are you running? I'm guessing you have some sort of proxy or VPS with GSA running?

Based on this and s4antos success, I think I might have to pick this up. I have an old laptop sitting here where I could run this 24/7.
 
Since the last Update it runs much quicker with a lower CPU load.

I my opinion it get mutch more result.

Anyone sharing this impression?
 
I bought this last week, with captcha sniper and GSA auto indexer. I'm loving it, thanks to BHW for the recommendation. I will sign up for another captcha to get it running perfect. My question is, I'm running through my Mac Pro in Bootcamp, which has a 3.33ghz 6 core processor with 6gb ram. How many threads do you think I can run? I'm not sure about those settings. What do you guys use to benchmark how many you can use?
