GSA Search Engine Ranker worth it?

Try unselecting "Also analyse competitors backlinks" just above the Search Engine Options.

Not sure how you figured this out but your actually 100% correct! even the mighty Sven couldn't answer this one for me, so thanks. To everyone else, make a note of this because this is something I am sure users will come across sooner or later.

I think you have to right click the project => Modify Project => Delete Target URL Cache, though I havent had a chance to test this

No, this doesn't do it (tried this on more than one occasion) SEOWhizz worked it out as per the above thread.

2.68 - new: added 3 new directory engines (HubDir, eSyndiCat, Link Bid Script)
- new: improved link parsing speed
- new: improved some other engines

Everyone be sure to update to 2.69 and make sure you recheck your search engines that you wanted to use. Sven sent me an email saying that he figured out why the link building might have been going slower. Somehow he accidentally removed Google from the default search engine list so a lot of targets couldn't be found. lol pretty funny but I'm glad he fixed it.

2.69 - fix: google search engine was somehow removed from search engine list,
This might have influence on low link building. So please check
your projects now and enable it again if unchecked
- new: improved proxy finder

Jesus, I just updated to 2.67 early this morning, lol.

I'm not sure that Google was missing in the list as I was able to select it from the Options tab. But anyway if 2.69 helps with the link building that'll make me happy again. So far the only thing I can get to work with 2.67 is guestbook links.

I've just started the trial and can only really get guestbook links and blog comments to work. Everything else only seems to work inconsistently. I can register with article sites but i've not had and confirmed links...

Great piece of software by the looks of it though, will think of buying if these problems get fixed.

EDIT: That update fixed everything :)

Are there other pieces of software that you guys recommend by this vendor? Besides the indexer and directory submitter (looking for tools specific to link building and ranking). The software vendor is absolutely amazing.

2.70 - new: added 3 new directory engines (indexU, qlWebDS Pro, PHP Weby)
- new: improved verification speed
- new: log messages improved for email validations
- new: some new footprints added for article and blogs engines

Can we ask Sven to have the new engines enabled by default? If you are doing 50 projects it is tedious to have to go and update all of them (sometimes twice a day!)

What would be nice is to highlight all your projects in the same way you can when checking where you have submitted to and do a mass update on all profiles.
Do all search engines, submission types etc
I still check in case a sneaky link has been placed in the forum submissions after each update

Yea, I agree..that would be helpful in updating older and new profiles

I just emailed him about this. I agree that it can be annoying to have to select all the new platforms .. good idea.

does anyone keep getting prompted to enter a category when submitting to directories recently?
it doesn't seem to do a great job of matching them up very well or disabling the prompts/

Sven just replied back to the email I sent less than an 2 hours ago asking if we can have it select the new engines on default or an option to select them in mass, etc. Here's what he said, "just added that to the latest version (ability to edit engines/options for multiple projects (popup menu))."

lol how is that for support?

So here's the latest update:

2.71 - new: ability to edit engines/options for multiple projects (popup menu)

So in 2 hours he read the email, added the feature and did an update. I think that breaks a world record for fastest feature request implemented in any software. lol

that's incredible, don't think I've ever even heard of software updates so quick.

I swear to god, if sven wanted to, he could put senuke and the others out of business if he had a full team.

it is a really great program
if i can't find a bot that can meet my very specific needs for web 2.0 sites, gsa ser is the next purchase on my list
