So I bought GSA tools last year as part of my SEO strategy, mainly to use with Scrapebox for harvesting links.

I ended up using private proxies because they actually work

It seems like 0 proxies from GSA Proxy scrape work at all.

I've tried filtering them, only using certain ports, only certain locations, by speed, etc.. literally 0 proxies work with scrapebox.

Tried for weeks to get GSA proxy scraper to work with scrapebox. Literally 0 links harvested through any of the built in proxy sources.

So then I figured I would try to find some better proxy sources. Asked Chat GPT, searched the web, and still 0.

Does anyone actually use GSA proxy scraper for anything? Seems like just a scam TBH I'm pretty disappointed with it.

look for posts by the user 'Ritchievalens' in the GSA forum, i cant link there as its not allowed to link to other forums here, but his posts give a good amount of insight into how proxy scraper can work. but for 90% of uses youll be better off with private/paid proxies anyway

I’ve had a similar experience with GSA Proxy Scraper, it’s hit or miss for most tasks. The public proxies it scrapes are often overused, slow, or outright blocked by tools like Scrapebox. Private proxies are definitely the way to go for reliable results.
If you still want to try public proxies, you might need to manually test and filter them in smaller batches, but honestly, the time spent isn’t worth it. GSA Proxy Scraper isn’t a scam, but it’s definitely not great for heavy lifting or advanced SEO tasks. Stick with private proxies for consistent performance.

Is there anything it works for? Genuinely curious as it doesn't even seem to work for basic VPN

Yeah, I think GSA Proxy Scraper is mostly good for low-level stuff. If you're doing SEO or serious scraping, private proxies are definitely the way to go!
