This looks awesome, it would make an excellent addition to my other GSA products. One quick question though: Isn't most of the features already included in GSA SER? Thanks!

No this works differently. With SER, you can only sort a single list.

With Pi you can sort multiple lists at the same time, can monitor folders in real time so your links are being sorted while your scraper is scraping. You can sort by OBL, keyword in text, title, URL, & more. I'm considering adding Majestic API support so links can be sorted by CF/TF.

You can point it to folders so it will remove duplicates in intervals. For example, you could point it to all your SER global site lists and its always removing the dups and keeping the list "clean".

If you check out the vids, it can give you an idea. :)

I still haven't tried it but read your sales page for the 2nd time and it doesn't mention filtering by PA/DA. Is it possible to integrate MOZ API as well besides CF/TF from Majestico? That would be a nice feature that I think most other members would want as well.

We will look into the API for Moz. If the free accounts allow it, I'm sure it can be added. The cheapest moz plan in the API I see is $500 so as long as the free accounts can pull the data too, we can probably add it :)

    REVIEW:

Ive been using this tool for sometime now since it was in early beta.

When using GSA SER you can only run 1 copy per machine and SER doesn't really effectively function above 500 threads. More to the point is that while SER can do what PI does - although not with the level of automation - being able to sort in lists without using up your connections in GSA SER can significantly increase production time. More production equals more money.

Identification: As for the identification of the platforms, it seems to be on point. The recently added Full detection mode is excellent, allowing a given url that could be used in multiple platforms, to be added to each list. My current stats for the lists I have run thru PI is:
    Total.........................: 10484324

It does what its supposed to do, identifies and sorts in, and there are multiple features to make this part more useful.

Ease of Use: Not too much to say here, its self explanatory. I don't know if there is a help guide, but when s4nt0s first sent me the exe file, he just handed it to me and said here you go and I have no issue figuring out what everything is and how it works.

Visibility: There are charts and stats and all that good stuff. I don't use them, because the point of all of it is that it runs by its self while I sleep, while Im taking the kids to school and while Im eating dinner. However if I was wanting to test the viability of certain footprints for example, I might do a scrape with them and then create a project and import just those and then the stats would be highly useful. So its a great asset to have.

Largest Benefit for myself: The largest benefit for myself is I guess two fold. Firstly being able to identify targets outside of SER and second being able to do this in an automated fashion. I currently have an automated setup where Scrapebox kicks out lists of urls 24/7 into a folder. Then PI is set to monitor that folder. As new lists are added to the folder, PI will analyze them and add them to my global identified list. The global identified list is stored in dropbox where its synced into all my servers running GSA SER. Then I have projects running to pull urls from that identified list and post to etc... So taking threads outside of SER and doing it in a hands off way is of key benefit for me and Im sure many others.

Cons: I crashed a bunch of the beta versions with all sorts of stuff, but he fixed all that and its running stable now. He also added some features I asked for. So I guess the only con is that it doesn't make me coffee? :D

Price: Its $57 and he is even giving you a discount on top of that. This is a drop in the bucket for the ROI you will get by maximizing your production in SER.

Overall: For me the overall take away is that this tool does what I need it to do, it works and works well for what its meant to do. Ultimately I use automation tools to free up my time to do other things, which allows me to make more money and have more time to enjoy life. PI is a tool in my arsenal that does this, and that makes it worth many times the price that is sold for.

Hard to add more than Loopline already posted.

I've been using this also for a while now and it's great. Makes a huge difference when your processing your scrapes that are already sorted and identified.

Great job Devin. You really nailed it with the Platform Identifier.

I have been using this for a few weeks and if you are building your own lists I really cant recommend it enough.

I have scrapebox scraping and dumbing its results in a folder that GSA PI is scanning, once it picks up new URLs it worts them and dumps them into my GSA SER identified folder. I then have a few GSA SER projects running to post to the identified lists, in turn moving any good links to my verified lists. I then have my regular projects reading from my verified list and posting away on self found non spammed sites.

However, just a heads up to anyone reading this you will be getting a ton of "Unknown" URLs from your scrapes that are not shown in the OP, no fault of the software just your scraping footprints but I though people should be made aware of this.

All in all this product is everything I have came to expect from GSA, extremely high quality at an extremely fair price and I can honestly say I am glad I have added it to my GSA family along with SER, CB and Indexer.

By the activity of this thread you may think this hasn't took off or isn't popular, but the reason for that is simple: the target group is only the big boys who scrape their own lists. GSA SER is widely popular, but those who scrape their own lists are few, but this tool is a godsend for them! Most if not all of them sell their lists to make up for their expenses(VPS,Captchas) so they won't talk much about their setups and how easy it is to scrape lists hence the silence in this thread. ;)

I decided to play this game right and go for my own lists and when I started setting things up I realized the importance of Platform Identifier. I'm using it for a scraping setup that I started building just recently and I must say this tool saves a looot of headaches. First it gives your GSA SER room to breathe so it can work 24/7 without any interruptions, and secondly it sorts your lists perfectly so you can simply import and blast away with gsa ser. This precious tool also allowed me to completely automate my scraping setup, not to mention that you can use MOZ metrics to sort and filter your urls, so you can leave out the junk and post only to the cream of the crop links.

I have scrapebox + automator plugin running a few harvesting sessions in a loop and saving files in two separate folders. Each session harvests for a specific engine. From there Platform Identifier has:

    1. a project to remove duplicates from the raw scraped list.
    2. project to identify the first engine raw files
    3. project to identify the second engine raw files
    4. remove duplicates project for the identified files
    5. project to identify the unrecognized urls from both 2,3

I'm running this for about a week now and it's going real smooth! I'm getting fresh urls by the minute to feed my GSA SER. Once I did this setup I can simply enjoy and watch my lists grow, it's really amazing. Before PI was out I was trying to get into scraping my own lists, but the identifying part with GSA SER put me off. It seemed dirty and too much trouble. Now after I own PI I must say I'm having such a great time! I'm loving scraping, you know why? Because I don't do anything literally! AND I get the best list I can get, clean, untouched and fresh!

And the best part about Platform Identifier is you can avoid using high CPU resources on your VPS with GSA SER. If you're on a tight budget like I am, but have a powerful home PC, you can use PI on your home pc and leave your VPS to do only scraping. For example: set your scrapebox or gscraper to srcape on your VPS and set it to save the raw lists in a dropbox sync folder or whatever sync app you wish (copy.com,mega.co.nz,btsync etc..). You can identify your links with PI on your home PC and save set to save the identified list again in a synced folder if your GSA SER is on your VPS. This way you can avoid using the CPU on your VPS for identifying and can go with a lower budget VPS and let your home PC do the high CPU extensive tasks.

And best of all is s4nt0s is being most helpful and very explosive in his support. I had a few suggestions for small features I thought were necessary in PI and s4nt0s implemented them with lightning speed! He is always in the mood for improving PI and accepting new ideas. What a great piece of software this is, so happy about it!!

Of course it is, that's the whole point! :)

Simple example of an automatic workflow:

    1. Scrapebox scrapes for new urls (you can automate it completely with their automator addon) and saves them to a folder named SCRAPED_URLS
    2. GSA Platform Identifier monitors the folder SCRAPED_URLS and identifies new urls as soon as they are added to it.
    3. GSA Platform Identifier then saves your identified urls to a separate folder called IDENTIFIED as soon as hey are processed
    4. GSA SER - Settings - Advanced <- you set your Identified global list to the folder IDENTIFIED
    5. You set your GSA SER projects to get target urls from the global list identified and viola!

Congratulations, you have a perfect fully automated setup of scraping, identifying and posting to new urls! :)

This is a standalone version with different features (monitoring folders, PA/DA sorting, etc) For now this better off as a stand alone software.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to give some feedback and explain how you run it with SB 2.0! I'm not sure what you're using in terms of proxies for scraping with SB, but if you haven't tried proxybandits new proxy service, it's pretty insane. Well worth taking a look at if you're going to be doing a lot of scraping :)

    My pleasure ! :)

I'm currently using Wylde's Premium Public Proxy service because it's cheap (yeah, yeah I'm starting out with massive scraping so I'm still a cheapa$$) :)

Actually I was thinking of trying out proxybandits I'm pretty sure it will do much better than what I'm currently using, but not until I get a decent dedi first. Thanks for the suggestions!
