Growing 2 Affiliate Websites [Journey]

Amazing journey. Keep updating us and Good luck.
Btw, do you have a specific income goal for these websites or you're just trying to see how far it can go?

Nice journey and good progress.

Keep it strong! ;)

Thanks for sharing you journey. I'm officially starting my first move into this world today by buying my first hosting service and couple of domains.

Besides Google trends or general intuition, any idea where I should start researching the theme of my new website?

To be honest, I don't really have a specific income goal, I'd like to see how far I can take them. Though, the point where I'd consider the websites a success is when they're making a combined income of $500. And I'd possibly consider selling them when they reach $1,000+ a month.

I find that the best way to find a niche is just to brainstorm ideas that come to your head. Look around you in day-to-day life and look for potential niches. For example, you go to a park and see people playing cricket or flying kites, those are potential niches.

You could also use eCommerce stores like Amazon and browse their categories for ideas.

You can then use Google trends to check the seasonality of the niche.

After finding a niche you should checkout your competitors and see what they're doing that's working for them. I like to use Ahrefs to get all the keywords they're ranking for and their top performing pages.

Best of luck with your journey bro, let me know how it goes!;)

What I did during August:

This month I posted 7 articles to Website 1 and 3 articles to website 2. I also began a bit of promotion through Pinterest using TailWind. I’ve set up all social media including Pinterest as an automated system as I want my focus to be on SEO. From outreach I’ve managed to secure a few links to both websites, primarily Website 1.

Progress
Both websites have been shooting up in rankings! I’m extremely happy with the growth, you can compare my most recent Ahref stats with last months and you’ll see how they’ve grown. It’d be great if the websites were to continue growing at this rate, though I do think the growth will slow down at some point.

Despite the growth in rankings, website 1’s UV’s haven’t improved probably as the niche is very seasonal. Website 2’s UV’s have almost doubled.

The earnings have skyrocketed this month. I’ve been blown away at how much the websites have made, last month I was happy to finally hit $100 in a month, and this month It’s been over $250. I’m not too sure if I just got lucky this month or if revenue will stay consistently over $200, I’ll just have to wait and see.

Plans for September:

Recently I started working throughout the week so I’ve not had as much time as I normally would. I’ll probably be working up until I go back to university late this month, so I’ll be outsourcing the writing. I’ve not got anything else planned really, just outsource some articles and reply to some of my outreach responses.

Current Stats:

Website 1 (August):

Revenue: $192.24

Visitors: 3,221 UV

Article Count: 62

Current Ahref Stats:

Website 2 (August):

Visitors: 1,683 UV

Article Count: 60

Nice progress mate. Congrats on your new earnings. Hoping to see you double that next month. Keep us updated

Following your journey. :)
What's the domain age for these two websites?

What I did during September:

This month I posted 5 articles to Website 1 and 3 articles to website 2. I also acquired 2 guest posts for free and bought 2. Besides this, I’ve not done much else apart from creating some Pinterest pins. I’ve been working full-time and have now started university so haven’t had much time.

Progress
According to Ahrefs, both websites are still growing though the growth seems to be starting to slow down, which is completely fine.

Website 1’s traffic has increased by over 1,000 unique visitors this month. Website 2’s traffic has also increased slightly. Traffic wise the websites are doing great even despite both websites coming out of seasonality.

As I had predicted, earnings dropped this month. I think I just got lucky last month, but I’m happy to be hitting 100$ consistently.

Plans for the next few months:

I’ve just started university again, so I probably won’t spend much time on the websites. I won’t forget them completely; I’ll re-invest some of the earnings back into articles and links. I’ll take it slowly until about April next year when I have more time. I look forward to working on these sites again. I may or may not continue posting monthly updates until then.

Current Stats:

Website 1 (September):

Revenue: $89.54

Visitors: 4,472 UV

Article Count: 67

Current Ahref Stats:

Website 2 (September):

Revenue: $48.87

Visitors: 1,889 UV

Article Count: 63

Current Ahref Stats:

Total Revenue (September): $138.41

What I have been up to:

Until recently I have been studying at University and have not done very much work on the websites. I have purchased and uploaded an article every now to keep breathing life to the websites. Besides this, I have not done much else besides update themes and plugins.

Progress:

Despite this, the websites revenue has been booming. This is more than likely due to COVID-19, people are being forced to order products from Amazon and therefore I have been earning a lot more commission from Amazon Affiliates. Website 1 now has 86 articles, Website 2 now has 80 articles.

April ($1,255.13):

May ($1,173.45):

Plans for the future:

Honestly, I think this is the end for this journey. Of course, I will continue to work on the websites and work on creating new websites during this summer break. Originally this thread was to pressure myself into working harder and keep track of my progress however I do not think I will be needing that anymore. I also want to focus on other projects which I have planned for the near future. Therefore, I will not be creating monthly updates however may update every now then if I feel like it.

Appreciate it bro, I'm also following your journey, best of luck.

I just started a new website as well.

Just a month old with 60 articles so far.

Can I ask how old are your websites and what month did you hit the $1k after starting the website?

Congrats on your journey so far.

That's great to hear that's a lot of articles in your first month, I can see you going far. Best of luck bro.

Websites are about 2 years old now and have been little projects that I work on during summer and let age whilst I'm at university. They started hitting $1k a month in April.
