Hi, I'm the owner of FightBack Networks. A couple of things I want to clarify:
We do have quality control. Every single post is both checked by our system, and then by a human moderator. We don't read every sentence in every post because we only charge $19 per month and we can't afford to spend minutes on every post in the system.
However, we do make sure posts:
1. are never spun, we simply don't allow spinning
2. are in English language (no language mixing)
3. do NOT have more than one link going to the same domain, you can have up to 3 links going to different domains.
4. only have contextual links. No random insertion, links must be in a sentence and make sense in that sentence.
5. are unique, we use copyscape and/or our own duplicate content detection system. We built this because copyscape only works with indexed content, and we also check posts again previous posts sent from our own networks before they are even indexed.
6. Most of our networks only allow 1 or 2 posts per day per domain. This means your PR links last for weeks before getting pushed off the homepage. By comparison ALN allowed up to 15 so HPBLs often did not even last a day.
7. We have some "doomsday" functions built in. Are networks are all separate, so IF one ever gets brought down, the others will be ok, and you can use the "purge" function to eject your links from the blogs. This means you won't have any of your links on the de-indexed blogs. Obviously, we're doing our very best to be secure and it's worked so far, but we are also prepared for the worst if it ever happens.
Also I should add that we've never had a site deindexed from being in our system (except for some blogs on ASEO seo hosting, and that wasn't our fault, all the nameservers were the same!), and we launched in July 2012.
If you're not looking for a blog co-op, and are actually looking for blog management instead then I recommend Sick Network. It's not as good as managewp yet but managewp cost me $360 per month, and sick networks costs $50 (currently) one time!
