Not my idea and I've never done it but I am good friends (30+ year friendship) who does and does it with a variety of companies.

Advertise on your local TV stations by buying unsold ad spots.

They are way lower in cost than paying for regular time and are not the middle of the night commercials either as the time varies and you can actually get some good spots.

He makes a killing doing that as his cost to acquire a customer is very low with that kind of advertising.

You may want to look into that in your area and see if that is something that would work for you.

I totally agree with this. There's a reason why all the late night infomercials have been running for years and years. I was once on a call with the CEO of Total Gym who explained how they started by buying whatever unsold or cheap airtime they could get.

It's surprisingly easy to advertise on TV so it doesn't matter whether you're a small business or online entrepreneur.

In the UK, there's also a weird concept. You are billing per thousand views after your ad airs but under a certain number and they just don't charge you. Not sure if that's still a thing and if there's anything similar in the US.

In a time where everyone is throwing money at digital ads, IM, and all the rest, there's some pretty good opportunities with the more traditional channels.

How he can make the tracking? to know from where that lead came
That did not come up but that can easily be done by telling the viewer to use X code to get a discount when they order and insert different codes for different spots.

I know this is a tad bit off-topic, but Podcast ads perform well, as I have used them a few times. They are affordable with 30-second ads, as I found. Good topic, though as people forget even mailers, when done right, can work well too.

I have done many things, some ok; some are not so great in terms of working out well, but my theory is it never hurts to try it out.

Out of interest did you contact the podcast host for a shoutout or use something like Spotify's ad insertion?

It was similar to Spotify's ad insertion called advertisecast. Again, it was a long time ago and the prices were low. We just did it for branding that is all. Now, I see how the prices are going up as there are tons of podcasts but I am guessing you can reach out to a particular podcaster and maybe have them try your product and ask if you can do a mid-roll.

Podcast ads sound good, particularly in niche markets.

Offline marketing is crazy wild. Even a classified ad in a local newspaper can give you lots of leads for very cheap. I tested this in past.

You were a salesman before right?

Do you have any experience with online lead generation -> sales phone close by the way?

I know you are a lot more old school than us and I search some infos about this way of doing that is often forgotten with "full online" business structures, if it's the case I will maybe PM you about one or 2 things if I can take a little bit of your time.

I started selling when I was about 10 years old so I have a little background there but most of my adult life was building and running companies and you are selling all day long as you need to get new business and you need to motivate your people.

I've never done online lead gen and then close via phone with few exceptions.

All of my online lead gen stuff was closed via email/skype/etc but you'll certainly close more telephonically.

But, you have to hop on those leads quickly as in sales, "He who hesitates is lost".

I have better ( I define what is "better" for my life. Could be something else for you.) things to do in my life right now, lol. This is something I used to do when I was a kid. Since then, I have grown up to become a programmer. :)

As for the method itself, newspaper ads will ALWAYS work (given newspapers aren't gone). I know as I see millions of dollars getting spent on print ads. They ain't paying for nothing.

Thanks for your advice. I have no idea about the sales psychology on the phone except when I was sold something but wanted to pay people to do it for me.

As it's my business and I know my target audience and they don't I want to understand the basics of it, I will search for a quick course in my country to understand the basics and let professional do their job with my leads afterwards.

The power of the phone close to a warm/hot lead after a great lead magnet has to be the most forgotten thing to effectively sale today.

You are a great inspiration, thanks again.
