    Hey everyone,

I haven't really made tons of posts or shared tactics here on BHW. Let me tell you first a little about myself and what I'm set out to do.

I'm a successful Web Developer and have my own at-home business for a number of years. I make an average of $11K a month, but sometimes money is tight because of clients paying late and having bills/overhead costs run me back sometimes 2 months or so.

What I'm pretty much trying to do is create a second-flow of income that can be generated monthly, or on a more consists basis than my current payment scheme. Also having extra money is great for savings, vacation, etc..

So I've read a lot of threads on the GP Letter Method and decided to give it a whirl. I live in an area where there's not a lot of online-competition so I'm hoping to have it become a success - if not maybe generate some extra cash for my Web Development business along with other things.

    First Steps:

I bought the WSO a few days ago and printed out all the PDF's (I like having things printed so I can actually look at, helps me focus more I guess... I have enough windows/tabs/applications running on my Mac as it is!) I already setup my Letter Template and Customized Cover Page & Links for each of the letters I'll be sending out.

    The Customization {Change-Up}:

Instead of using the plain letter in the Bonus PDF that came with the WSO, I decided to change it up a tad bit (see image below) - btw the font is "Top Secret" font that's available for free online; I figured that would work better and catch someone's attention that it would be a very important piece of mail rather than something like Arial.

Also if you noticed, I'm displaying the paperclip ON the cover letter - another trick that I figured would generate someone opening it up to see what could POSSIBLY be inside, double-whammy right there as soon its opened on top of whatever the WSO suggested.

The original GP letter isn't being covered with their newspaper ad since it's behind the cover letter... (image below)

The plastic sleeve with the blue binding I found out Staples.. they come in a 6 pack for about $2.50 US.

The rest of the package contains what the WSO tells you to include... so I'm going to do a couple tonight to try and mail off tomorrow.

For the actual website that I must create, I attached it to my business site... I created domain.com/offers/{business-name} using the method found here at this post:

    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...e-quickly-create-annoying-offer-webpages.html

The only problem I ran with is making the {how many people are searching for your site} part of the wording work for EACH different business. What I did instead was just use something generic like "thousands of people" or "a lot of people" instead of the suggested phrase. That way I can just type out /offers/{their-business-name} and it would automatically populate the last segment of the URL with their Biz name.

I also setup Google Analytics and a script that would email me anytime someone went to those particular URL types... that way I can get an idea instantly and probably follow up on it if I don't hear from them (the email script will help more than GA of course since it'll say in the subject something like... "Business-Name has viewed the Offer!" in the email.

I'll find out what type of envelopes my local USPS office will let me ship - as suggested in other threads I'll utilize the APS and hope nothing gets returned... I think I'll have one mailed to myself and see if it arrives.

I'll post in 2-3 days and see if I get any responses via the web or phone.

Whew, here's to success and trying to break the 20K monthly barrier that I've been trying to hit.

I'll also be doing more IM things and putting things into action... being a Web Developer and staying up to 4-5am everyday to get projets done can only get you so far!

Looks like you know what your doing, but what exactly are you going to do with those packets you make? Drop them off at local business that don't have websites yet or something?

No, pretty much mailing those off to businesses that you find in the paper - all the tactics are detailed in the WSO and it's pretty easy to follow through.

Those are businesses that could or could not have a site, but the purpose is to rank them in Google Places (and just general SEO)

Good luck on your journey! I am in the process of doing the same thing but offering a mixture of google places, website optimization, and $29.99/month websites. I am working on sending out a batch of 20 using plastic sleeves similar to yours in the next couple weeks.

My only suggestion would be to rephrase "the shocking truth about your website" it reminds me of the informercial ads you see at 3am on how to make 1 million dollars over night.

It looks great, I hope you keep us updated and let us know how it goes!

Good luck to you. This method certainly works and generates business. Just be persistent, even if the first round gets you zero clients.

I like the idea of the paperclip on the front. Low cost way to make the cover a bit heavier, opening on its own, almost.

Yeah I know... my wife & I have this discusison ALL the time - I guess it's more of a budgeting issue... when we do get money it literally rains all at once -- however then we have to go back and pay bills/small overhead of contractors that we're behind on and the cycle starts again.

We dont get paid for another 4-5 weeks and then we're backed up again.

But yeah... we're trying to clear up all our debt to have more cash flow and I'm sure this is something that will definitely help, thus the reason for me doing it and continuing to expand the business.

I also have some other ideas that may work well... possibly send them a customized flyer to peak their interest and plant a seed in their head via fax if they have one... I know there's a CSV of a few businesses somewhere that I found here - or you can find it on manta.com or just call them up and ask for it.

I'm not sure if most businesses receive any type of faxes that are graphically inclined or customized, but if you make it snappy and then they receive this via mail they may be more inclined to call you up.... what do you guys think?

But is it compulsory you have them click a offer link, that part can be left cant it. The message to get across is right in the clients face.

Am going to try and post 20 packet this week, going to get a cheap printer.

Thanks for the thread. Please keep us updated with your progress.
Just curious, the WSO you bought, is it the same WSO that was shared on redhill's thread? (with respect, i m happy to hear you actually paid to support the original author, its a good WSO afterall).

Yes it is the same as on RH's thread - I also did pay the $9.95 (which is very cheap compared to what you get) for Gary's WSO

Um, is the customized webpage necessary? (I haven't read the WSO, yet) I would imagine it's more important to get prospects to call us and/or write email ASAP.

I'm not a marketing freak or anything by any-means.. so not sure of the logic behind that but in my eyes, with the script i've set up on the landing page, it'll let me see instantly if they've viewed the page or not.. shrug

Yeah would really love an update to this. All to often these things are popping up with little follow up. Hell even if it is a simple this made me to busy to respond.....

I havent received any response to the Gplaces letter I've sent out.. however the 7878 method using the Fedex envelope has received a bit of response... had a buddy do the same and he got about 12% callback using my tactic - I just sent out my letters today which include GPlaces, 7878 and some other things I'm working on.. Hoping to get some calls the end of the week !

I find that it is easy to delivery something like that in person. People have a hard time saying NO in person, but snail mail, email, and cold calls make it easy for people to ignore you.

All my offline marketing is door 2 door. I don't build rapport or use any goofy Tony Robbins positivity, just the facts. Here's the problem, Here's the solution, I can help. It's easy to sell when you know that you are offering them something of TRUE value. Those who say NO, do so because they have been burned by BS blackhat SEO companies, they don't understand (my fought), they fear the internet or they are cheap/broke.
