Got Scammed out of $175 on Fiverr

That sucks man. A bunch of hard work and someone just comes and steals it. Wherever there is a marketplace these things happen, I'm sorry it happened to you! Writing articles takes a lot of time, I've been writing for my own projects and man I don't like it at all! Maybe you can write a detailed email to fiver? present your case with the articles and the website they are currently on and see what happens.

If I was in your shoes, I would definitely ruin that guys website. But as rabitking said, he could have resold your articles so that wouldn't be fair. Karma is a bitch and this is life shit happens. It's best to move on, I'm sure you will get a lot of good buyers and you will make that money back in no time. Take it as a lesson learned and just be careful with big orders I guess. If someone orders that many articles at once be super cautious. Break the transaction up into 3 - 4 pieces and do it over time. There really is nothing else you can do if a jackass is using stolen credit cards.

Good luck, would really like to know how Fiverr responds to the situation and sincerely hope it somehow has a favorable response.

First off, thanks..

I did give fiverr all the info thought I doubt it will matter

They were small transactions over the month. I did a PP dispute weeks later. Nothing I can do about it.

Also, on fiverr, you cant tell someone not to order. You have very little control over anything. This one of the reasons I dont do any more time consuming work with them anymore.

As for ruining his website. I simply don't have that ability or the time to do it. :)

I am 90% sure this person is full of shit and that nothing will come of this but I would at least like to know who was in charge of the SEO if this is true. That site is a piece of shit and that person is not real. If I had a little shitty site I would know how much I spent a month on SEO and would simply provide the name of the person who did the work, especially if my site was down. This person is a scammer who is stalling.

Also more than 36 hours since I contacted Fiverr and no response.

Apparently Fiverr does not follow up with PP disputes.. this would mean that the buyer natural would win and get his or her money back. Obviously they don't care because they do not loose anything. This is disgusting and makes Fiverr an extremely easy mark for scammmers.

But don't worry, the buyers Fiverr account will be banned... you know cause its so hard to create another Fiverr account... I have 5 of them.

Though the guy promised to take the articles down, his hosting company reinstated his site and the articles are still there so... he just gets to keep everything and there is nothing else I can do... Also its been over 48 hours and still no response from Fiverr.

Lesson learned guys, people can screw you on Fiverr and there is nothing you can do about it. Beware.
 
That sucks happened to me to this month, user ordered in july and even left good feed back. This month got three disputed charges since he ordered three times from me. The total was like 30 bucks tho not that much. Still my fiverr account went to a negative balance and i had to eat thos charges my self, so i ended up paying for them (aint that some shit)

They really need to come up with a different system, unlikely that will happen anytime soon tho.

OP show the site owner this thread and tell him not to f&*k around with member of BHW. Thousands of troop will hunt him down if he still refuse to pay or take down the articles....
 
He has a whole 6 likes on his facebook fan page... Negative SEO wouldn't do anything I'm guessing because he probably isn't ranking for anything.
 
What pisses me offer more than anything is the fact that it's been more than 3 days now and I still haven't heard from Fiverr.

They won't come up with a way to fix it as long as we are the ones who have to eat the charge backs. It's easier to let the cheap labor get shit on than actually try and come up with a solution.

I did a google search looking for my articles and they are all on one website. I love how Fiverr fucks up and allow this guy to steal from them and I'm out $175. If this guy stole someones credit card or something and they allowed it... it should be on them.

Anyway, not sure if this is a stolen account or if someone just wanted free articles but I just thought I would make people aware. Just because the 3 days go buy and you money "cleared" doesn't mean shit. Also according to others, if didn't have the money in my Fiverr account, they would have pulled it directly from my paypal account.

FYI, there is someone (probably from BHW) scamming freelancers and reselling the work on iWriter. If you're a writer, be very careful of someone who tells you to be available all day every day on Skype, will give you an article to write that you must have finished within a couple of hours, and he usually creates the "job" on Fridays to avoid the Elance/Fiverr/etc reports. So basically, a shell crew doesn't catch the scam to kill the job quick enough.

It's some buzz going around writing circles.
 
I am not 100% sure on this, but I believe ownership of all the content you deliver is returned to you if the order is cancelled, as in copyright. Check fiverr's policy page. You can send his hosting company a message about copyright issues and talk about how he ordered article off fiverr (make it look legit and professional) and you could have his site taken down. We all know how sensitive hosting companies are about complaints.

I did this right away and they shutdown his site. He took down the articles, unfortunately they were written on a topic tailored to his site and are worthless to me.

On a side note, its been almost 5 full days and no response from fiverr customer service.
 
Please keep us updated if he messages you again it's an interesting thread and I'm sorry you got scammed.
