Got Scammed out of $175 on Fiverr

I'll try to make this quick. I do writing work on Fiverr. I had a guy order $175 worth of articles over a few weeks back in early to late July. Got an email from Fiverr this morning. saying

"Hi kegnum, We have been informed that a dispute was opened for your order F******3: write *******. As a result, we are forced to cancel this order and ask that you discontinue your work. Please note that in some cases disputes are nothing more than temporary holds that are put on funds to make sure that they were authorized by the buyer. The dispute does not indicate that the buyer initiated it. If the dispute gets resolved, the buyer will receive an offer to reorder your gig. Thanks, The Fiverr Team"

I did a google search looking for my articles and they are all on one website. I love how Fiverr fucks up and allow this guy to steal from them and I'm out $175. If this guy stole someones credit card or something and they allowed it... it should be on them.

Anyway, not sure if this is a stolen account or if someone just wanted free articles but I just thought I would make people aware. Just because the 3 days go buy and you money "cleared" doesn't mean shit. Also according to others, if didn't have the money in my Fiverr account, they would have pulled it directly from my paypal account.

Comments and advice are welcome

Just like I was saying in another thread. Buyer fraud is rampant but you don't hear eBay, PayPal, Fiverr, or any
other marketplace looking towards helping the so called "evil" business. Nah they like to side with the buyer 99% of the
time. Kegnum, any way you can show them where the articles are being used?

Oh and yeah there would be some pay back for this if I was you mate. :)

I don't think so. The dispute is with PP, Fiverr and the buyer... Nothing to do with me. I did contact Fiverr and let them know but I highly doubt anyone is going to do anything about it.
 
Oh. If you'd like, please send me his site and I'll add it to my comprehensive NSEO case study.

I start off with a list of 4 million of the shittiest AA links (with Scrapebox) then I have a lot more lists I use in GSA.

It's not guaranteed to tank his site but I definitely think it'll knock some sense into him. :)

While I half want to destroy this guy's site... I really don't want to waste anymore time on this... I wrote this more to make people aware. Just because you think you are safe once the 3 days have passed and your funds have cleared, or even if you withdraw the funds to your PP account, you aren't.

I am not an expert SEO nor do I have a ton of SEO tools at my disposal. So going after this guy would be too much of a waste of time. I stopped working on Fiverr over a month ago. It is too little pay for so much work but like I said... be aware of this.

Don't even sweat it man. Fiverr is cutting their own wrists for a long time - seen many good sellers go because they seem overly greedy when it comes to closing (loaded) accounts. Seeing their 'new' Fiverr concept and efforts just shows me one thing, it's going down soon :).

Buyer always is king on Fiverr by the way, this case just shows it once more.

Oh wait I just got an idea. The guy who scammed you out of the articles could have sold them to someone
else and thus the site we are all talking about could be a third parties who is innocent in all of this. The joker
who scammed me out of articles on BHW also resold the articles.

Try to make a connection to see if they site belongs to the guy who scammed you. If not then message that
person and let them know the content was original by you and not that thief. You might just pick up a client
and steal it away from the crook. :)

Yea, you are right Rabbit... though when you see the site... it looks like a shitty article farm. I would assume it was his. No contact info. Tons of articles on the same exact topic.
 
Stupid scammer, and where ever he is now, he'll think he's wise. Karma will surely get him.. Sorry for the lost.

this was my first thought as well btw, but if the gig was paid w/ a hacked paypal/fiverr or stolen CC, he's still out of luck

the seller has chance only in one case (if he has any chance at all), which is a very unlikely scenario: if he can prove that the fiverr account holder who did the chargeback is the same guy who uses his articles on his site and that's only if the buyer used his own paypal/CC to purchase the gig, but now decided to do a chargeback for some unknown reason, if the buyer resold the articles, there's nothing the seller can do
most likely scenario: the buyer purchased the gig with a hacked paypal or stolen CC, the rightful owner of the paypal/CC noticed this and did a chargeback -> fiverr is out of their money, hence the seller is out of luck
 
The same was for me about 3 months ago! I was scammed by 150 $ (2 orders of 75$) and the buyer, after dlivery, has deleted Fiverr's order and was opened PayPal dispute. After that I've spammed buyer that changed his SoundCloud account.

So, today everyone can make this kind of activity because Fiverr doens't check the gig's work before giving back money to the f*cking customer!
