Hi all, this is my first post here, hope it will be helpful :-)
I have a site with alot of amazon products.
The first time I was rejected they gave me the reason of not enough unique content reason.
So I hired someone to write me all the products description and added alot of unique content.
Then I applied again and got rejected again with no given reason.
Does anyone have an idea why I got rejected?
The wrote me that they didn't find my site mutually beneficial for them or something like that. they didn't suggest me to fix and apply again. does that mean that this site is burned by them?
Any help will be appreciated!!
Thanks

I would like to show you my site url but its not allowed, you can find it searching geekyhippo

Looks like they decided your not an Associate. You could try again this time with a new IP, new site, maybe register using a family members details and give them a cut of what you earn or just move on to Google Adsense or CPA offers

Site looks ok but equally it is just loads of Ama product hence why they say nothing really original cos there isnt

Thanks for the reply seveneleven!
Well, there are lots of products but also alot of content. I can give you many similar sites for the same niche without content at all and nothing but products, that work very well and were accepted long time ago.
Why are they making it so difficult for new players?
Do you think that this site is burned? because I have also a fb page with 3k quality fans, that is associated to this website, and costed me to advertise.
That's really disappointing.

well base on my experience..the meaning of not enough unique contents is you need more contents than amazon contents you have in your site..if you have 50 articles that related with amazon such have a links or contents that taking directly from amazon or a review content then you should add 50-100 articles that 100% not related with amazon..it doesnt matter if you copy it from other site..this article must have value to your visitor..you can copy "how to" or "what benefit etc" kind articles and put it in your blog.

And make sure those article is showing infront of your site before applying amazon..try use magazine style theme..if your site already have some traffics.. put the traffic counter widget..i use hitstats..and try make you site look like already have discussing activity on it..i just make a fake comments..then you can go to amazon and apply..

i'm also just like you before..i got rejected 3 times..after make some researching around places i make a site and use the way i wrote above..after 1 week applying i got 1 sale and the next day i receive an approval email.

Edit: dont forget to put the recent comments widget in your site..(after you get approve you can remove it or change the whole site if you want it)

OP you didn't mention which version of associates you applied for US, UK, etc?

I don't know for sure but i think US and UK differ when it comes to approval. I say this because a site i had got disapproved on the UK version but got approved on the US version

Thanks for the replies!
Terengganu.boy you think that this domain that got rejected twice will automatically rejected in the future no matter what I will put in the site?
Do you think I can apply with a different site and also with a different user? or I can keep the same username? I mean, did they erase me totally?

Hawkster, I didn't really notice what kind of program I enlisted. but can you enlist to one program, get rejected, and enlist to other program?

I also got a mail from them yesterday night, explaining the reason to reject me. they said that they don't want site that were created specially for being amazon associate.
The thing is that my site has more content different then commercial, but apparently it was not enough for them.

So to sum up, my question is:
a. should I keep the same username next time I apply?
b. should I drop this domain name and try with other one? (this domain name has a facebook page with 3000 quality fans which I don't want to loose)

Thanks alot for your help!

As mentioned above already: Do not make a site around amazon! It's too obvious.

A. Make necessary changes and apply again with the same username.
B. It's not about the domain name, it's about the quality of the site. Take out some products, then increase the content on your site. The content do not have to be of the highest quality, just get readable content that relate to what your site is about. In simple terms, make your site to be of more value to a potential visitor than it is now.

All the best with your next application.

How come there are so many sites that are ONLY filled with Amazon products?
Amazon just decided that they don't want that anymore?
That just gives protection to the older sites, as they don't need to care about new competition, and prevent from new sites to emerge.

Another question, is it true that after being accepted I am free to use this site that was rejected as well?

Recently, there has been a surge in interest in the Amazon Associates Program. So many laxities that could fly under the radar before are scrutinized now.

Secondly, they do not review already approved accounts, unless there is a policy violation of some sort.

For example, there was a time when you could change use an obscure nickname as your FB name. Now, that is not possible. But there are a ton of accounts with obscure nicknames in their account name from yesteryear.

It's the case here. No one is witch-hunting you nor preventing you from joining the competition.

Follow the recommendations in the mail you received and from the replies on this thread and apply again.

Stop worrying and start acting.

Yes. You can put your affiliate links on any website. Just make sure the site is compliant to policies or your account would be axed.
