Here is the 1st thread: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/offline-marketing/388949-got-my-1st-client-tonight.html

I got a call today for some revisions to the agreement. They are trying to budget correctly and they had been burned in the past by an SEO "guru" who got them to position #98 for their KW.

Anyway, I negotiated with them and took the deal. 3 month contract $2k up front then 50% off the next 2 months(my rate is $1250) however if they land a client in the next 2 months they will reimburse me the 50% that I discounted for them.

I also got another warm lead today through a referral and I also sent out about 15 packets to businesses today!!

Hey, congrats, that's great news and motivational. Keep us posted. I wish I could get that sort of money, but the businesses I'm aiming at here are too small to shell out that sort of money. But I got to start somewhere

Congrats man, hopefully you'll start getting more clients along the way!

Based on what I read in the previous thread it seems you do the SEO work yourself along with closing the deals. That's admirable right there. Quick question though. Is the SEO work complicated enough to warrant outsourcing? I ask because I have a general understanding of SEO, Places Optimization, etc, it just seems like a lot of work. I'm planning to work as an online marketing consultant, offer different services and ultimately outsource them.

Meeting face-to-face with clients, telling them why they need my services and closing deals seems more like my cup of tea. Just starting though, but I'm confident enough to go through with it.

That's awesome!!! Keep up the good work and keep us updated on how it does. Always great to see a fellow BHWer succeeding! :)

Well I outsource most of what I do so I buy services here and there depending on my needs. I went through quite a bit of trial and error on my sites last year before I came up with a basic strategy that I like and works for me.

I know enough (or like to think I do) to be able to find value, so I dont need to white label or turn my business over to someone else. I just figure the services I buy as a cost of doing business.

But I dont own any fancy shamsny tools though.

oh God, SEO service in my country so cheap :( i charge him about $180 for 2 keywords

Awesome, good stuff. I have a friend who started SEO a while back and offers his services for $1200/month for 10 keywords and outsources it to his brother for $200/month. I mean it's believable and possible, but his incentive for telling me could also be bragging. I don't know. He seems very secretive about his work, but that's the only bit he didn't mind sharing.

But you guys here at BHW, you guys are the best. As I embark on my offline journey I'll be sure to return the favor and help my fellow members here out. Because out there are some individuals right now who are in the same spot I was months ago.

Depending on the kw the time and $ outlay is minimal. The thing is finding that value for the client and of course hardest of al finding someone who will listen to you for 5 minutes!

OP: Great work man, sounds like business is booming. Im sure youll get even more clients once the good word goes out, both online and offline.

Hey,

Well done man!

Shoot me or Boydie a PM and we can talk about some discounts for you to use on your client work.

Cheers

It get better too as you grow your client list. After a while the referrals will start pouring in if you do good quality work, combined with great customer service.

Can you share please what services do you use for your Backlinks strategy and from where do you buy them ? Thank you

Well done now go get some more :)

One client? Ha what are the selling? Luxury Yachts?!

This is great keep at it I still yet to get my 1st but sooner than latter it should start raining clients just need to keep at it, referrals are by far the best way to get clients but no reason not to knock on doors and get new ones, once you portfolio gets big enough people will be calling all the time, I noticed you are sending out packets are you getting any positive negative response from them?
Regards
Suave
