Got great domain. Looking for Partners for web design company.

I recently purchased a great domain name for a web design company. Apparently, the previous owner had it from 2004 and they let it drop. The domain is:

adobewebdesign
adobe web design

the commerce tld.

I know enough about web design to be a beneficial partner. What do you guys think? Good domain? Bad domain? Etc.

terrible domain - it's a registered trademark of a very powerful company.. they legally own that name and could take it off your hands at any time..

If you register a brand name domain like - cocacolawater.com or www. nikoncameraworld.com they trademark owner can legally seize the domains.. not worth the hassle
 
It's an ok domain. It's not worth much on its own though.

And even though if in the beginning you wouldn't be challenged for the ownership, see any success and they'll surely take it from you.
 
Turn it into a tips website on web design using Adobe products. Adobe is a dictionary word that cannot be trademarked by itself. The problem you have is that their software is often used in web design.
 
that was the idea. make it a forum with operators that can answer questions about problems in any adobe software. Using something like livezilla. But the operator will engage users that are overwhelmed with a sales pitch first. "Would you like to have xyz company build it for you" etc.
 
sure. Can easily get 100 uniques a day from exact match. I know you wish you had it. Also, learn some English.

The problem is going to arise when Adobe sees you making money they are going to have issues with that. Even if it benefits them.

It has happened three times with me, Fedex, UPS and Tracker Boats all had their lawyers send me letters for some of the sites I used to own.

The sites made those companies look good and one even sent them business but I was benefiting financially from their Mark and if they let me slide they would not be protecting their trademarks.

Total revenue lost from those 3 different deals was a total of about 4K a month... it was nice while it lasted as it was easy, low hanging fruit but it is not a long term business strategy that you want to consider.
 
I mean, there are tons of support forums for everything and everyone. It wont be making money from selling anything. Ill just solicit business from it for my web design company.
 
And if Adobe sees it and says to themselves, "This site is using our Mark, lets shut it down", are you going to be OK that your work is now gone?
 
Domain is worthless because of trademark.

Like BTB said, it don't matter if you have rave reviews of the company, send them business, or benefit them in any way.

I've also had domains that were partial match of company names in the past, and I've also experienced the same issues as others.

These big companies are all about complete control of their reputation/brand, and they will come after you sooner or later.
 
What do you guys think of what I put behind the domain. The site is up and ready to use.
 
I think you are going to get slapped by adobe. You might as well buy a non trademarked domain and stop wasting your time with this one. As they said above, you will eventually get it shut down, you might as well quit before you invest too much time into it.

I wouldn't mess with trademark domains. Maybe try to sell it, someone else might find it useful. Don't put a high price if you expect to get rid of it.
