I applied last week and got accepted for Merch Europe today. Competition here is not as tough as in US.

I am a pretty good designer, I already sell on shopify.

I also just created an Etsy store with 40 free listing

I plan to post only viral designs with a low price low profit but make 700-100 of them. I heard that that is the best plan, make pennies on shirts but sell them in quantities that will add up overtime.

I know right now BLM and Vote shirts are selling like hot cakes, but here in Europe, it wouldn't work.

Do some of you guys know how to start good?

Any of you are making good money on merch?

I am searching for a course right now in the download section...

You don't really need a course. You are asking basically what is trending right now? Search on youtube it's totally free and you can easily find what is viral at the moment

You won't need a course. See what's trending on Amazon itself. If you're a good designer you already have a huge advantage over others that need to outsource this part. Learn about what actually sells good. Most of the times simple designs sell better than other designs that take a lot of time. Try to go for a mixture of trends and evergreens, that way you'll even make money once trends go away. Trending shirts is good to get a momentum and increase your Merch tier, so you can upload more designs quick.

As for trends read a lot of news and see what is going on in the world. Once you see something that you feel might become a trends, make some designs out of it. It is super important to be one of the first. That way people will buy your design and make it rank higher.

If you have any more questions let me know. I've been on Merch by Amazon for more than three years.

Holidays are coming up. Design your shirts accordingly to that. Being a graphic designer puts you at an advantage. Look at what is selling already on Amazon and get your ideas from that.

Thank you for this

But how does this work tho? I list a shirt and optimize for organic searches right

I here people are starting with a niche, but does that make a difference? is my account recogized as a store?

I thought putting shirts out there with whatever design that has the potential to go viral would be the best strategy regardless of the niche my store could be in

You can start with whatever you feel most comfortable with. Some people start with certain niches, because they know a lot about it and think they know what their potential audience wants.

Your account will not be a store. More often than not, each shirt will have a different brand.

Also, checkout Google trends to pitch some extra ideas.

Just curious, do you also have Merch US and others enabled? Mine is a Merch US account and it has all the others too including Japan.
