cogs-- cost of goods sold- if it took you 10000 in services equiptment and whatever to get that 24k then you subtract 10000 from the 24k to get 14k of taxable income- I use turbo tax its great and easy. The trick is to hide your expenses in the profit so you will get a lower tax rate. This can bite you in the ass if you need to prove good income- such as for a car loan- to get a apartment lease etc... I choose to go for the lower tax rate.
 
Surely you could be charging double that, if they have 17 storefronts and headquarters all around the world?!

I'm sure they will be making a hefty profit so $4k a month wouldn't hurt them if you convince them it will pull in more customers.

Could you possibly PM me about those gigs? Great thread, I am doing SEO for free on two of my buddies' businesses to build up my rep and portfolio. I have some big clients lined up, just waiting so I can perfect the procedures used and build my website.

Good job!
All you need is two clients paying you about $2000 a month and you can live a good life.
Three clients and you're at the high end!

My goal is to get at least one client within the next month, hopefully I'll land a good one as well! :]
