Got a Large SEO Client!!

Congrats and thanks for answering the questions. How are things going? This is month two now.

Now go to work, stop with replays :)
Anyway congrats man, great job :)

Today I landed a client that will net me just short of $24,000 over the next 12 month. It is a large paint manufacturer and distributor. Contract is for $1995/month for 12 months.

Congrats.

But at the corporate level that is very low end (i.e. minimum package territory ... actually I think that price is well below what should be charged for a client that size). Remember, you can't go black-hatting these guys. White hat only. (Edit - some grey hat for sure ... but nothing too bad).

Congrats 44!

How do you handle the clients expectations? I mean, even if your clear about no guarantees and such, he must expect results.

What do you tell him?

Thanks!

congrats bud, since the company is big make sure to bump up the prices for the services once he ranks and starts to climb.. Highly doubt he will oppose..

Sorry I haven't been updating this thread guys, I have been fairly busy the past few months. The good news is, the company is still a client of mine of course. I haven't yet landed contracts for the other storefronts yet, but as of right now they are pulling in an additional $5500-5700/month in revenue since I started the SEO work for them. this make for about $3500 profit, minus my cost, which is $1500/month in the bank for them. I am still trying to rank them for the highest-searched keyword, and then things will really take off.

I spoke with the President of the company last week and we agreed to start on another storefront once I get the final keyword ranked in Top 3 position. Exciting times ahead, folks :-)

Thank you all so much again for the replies and kind words. None of this would be possible without you.

congrats for landing the big fish. some of your ideas i have been incorporating as i create websites for cos i offer them hosting etc plus seo. most of them trust you and you get referrals as well ,people do not want to go lookout for a new guy to do their work.

Congratulations on the success bro. I truly hope much more success in the future. I would love to speak to you on Skype.

first of course: congratulations to you!
very nice catch - hope this keeps going on as good as it sounds up to this point. and a very nice and inspiring read also.

one question i might ask:
you said they have offices spread around the globe. do you have to deal with different languages then - depending on what storefront in whatever country you have to work on? or do you strickly do the seo and don`t have to deal with the content on the sites?

may the success be with you!

Congrats mate! I just got my first SEO project too, I'll be posting a thread telling you guys about it!

Did you give him any guarantee of ranking? Like a guaranteed first page position or something? or is it just SEO with no guarantee or results??

Congrats buddy :)
Am inspired from your story and i believe one day i will also initiate thead like this which will explain my success story :)

I'm also interested. Do you gurantee 3 keywords in top 10 or top 3? For example after 4-6 months.

Excellent stuff, well done to the OP. This should give all of us branching out into offline SEO more inspiration!
What results did you promise if any and on what time span?

nicely done. one big client, that is all you need. sometimes less is more, much more... ;)

Congrats! So he found YOU, interesting.

Hey guys,

Sorry about not paying too much attention to this thread, been doing a lot of other things. Anyhow, to answer some of the questions, I didn't promise anything except increases traffic and rankings. I told them I don't control the SE's, but all of my clients are happy with the results and that they would be too.
