Google Will Finally Take Stronger, Panda-Style Action Against Manipulative Link Spam

What do you think about this?:

Agree with xenix9. I've been in SEO since the 90's. It's just an evolution. I've never worried about changes to search engines. Just have to adapt.

Links are at the core of Google's algorithm. They may tweak it, but it won't be huge. It would change the whole Google ecosystem. This company is making money hand over fist with a huge market share lead. They change the algorithm to much, it could effect their grasp on the market.

Hope he wrong about or Google will back off with Google+ I hate this network and the only reason I opened account is to get +1 to my web page, which by all say it increase SERP.
Guess we have to go with flow but I hope they will fall down!
I don't like the way they use their power to push + so hard it almost painful.

people seem to forget that Google really only can diminish the ranking value of (certain type of) links, 'coming for you, link spammers' is not really possible since that would make it just to easy to blow your competition out of the water...

this just changes the "how" of IM - as long as people still type a phrase into google, and 10 results (give or take) come up, at the end of the day it's all pretty much the same, just different ways of getting there

What a crybaby. Is he wanting to work for Google or what. His predictions mean nothing, I've heard and see it all, discount one type of links or many and we'll find ways to get around it.

They set rules in place that are solely designed to increase THEIR bottom line, further empower their dictatorial monopoly and expand THEIR control over their subjects, A.K.A. Internet Marketers.

Google is using BlackHat techniques to kill the organic search results. But remember, in a monarchy, anything said or done by the king is pure, wholesome, factually right and cannot be challenged by the subjects, A.K.A., Internet Marketers.

Actually, Toples, the truth is, g00gal is forcing the next evolution upon us. It's called g00gal +1. This latest push by g00gal has a multi-fold purpose. First, as with any monarchy, g00gal wants to own, control and rule over everything. Which means they are using g00gal +1 to take over FaceBook's space.

But I digress...

To your point about alternative links, g00gal +1 is partially it. The days of simple SEO are headed into oblivion as SEOers will now have to factor in plus ones into their/our ranking equations. The monarchy has made it clear that THEIR latest patent will be used in THEIR search engine and in THEIR ranking algorithms.

The obvious standout point being, "THEIRs."

They can't fight link spam. It's pure math.

This would make it easier,google +1 spam,they would no real way of controlling what is spammed +1's because people could visit a place and +1 it when they get back to another country.
It would make live easier.

It won't be stopping me using scrapebox etc,not until I see real prove and I have seen nothing like it so far.
Google can put more emphasise on +1,fair enough.Unless you've been living under a stone you'll already be planning and taking action on this.
Social links will now carry more weight,but wait,haven't we BH tools for that as well.

I think google is more interested in increasing it's bottom line.Of course they need a have a team for spam,we also know anything coming from there is half truths and why not if they spoke the truth their algo would be busted in days.

Google should be rewarding people who build links because at least they give a monkeys about their site being decent.
Panda was aimed squarely at affiliate sites,I guarantee this increased adwords revenue.

I also believe some of these SEO sites are "leaked" info for a reason,to put people off something that works.
Let's say they penalised sites with too much spammy links,everyone could just spam google itself.If it didn't drop they would be breaching their own guidelines which could actually cause them serious repercussions with various government bodies.

I think the bottom line is google wants more money,some sites with monetisation will be sacrificed.

Doesn't seem concerning to me.

1. Google has to be careful how much it penalized, otherwise everyone could just spam link their competition and get them kicked off of page 1.

2. It's not hard to build massive amounts of quality backlinks anyway. They could quit valuing forum profiles and blog comments altogether and it would mean nothing to those who already concentrate more on quality over pure quantity.

3. To really make a shift in devaluing links would also force them back into an older PR importance type model which we may see partially happen where websites that have more Google +1 are valued more highly but that's exactly what BHW is for. That shift would probably just make it easier for BHWers to pwn.

Scrapebox is the most useful tool I own, i mean sure it can spam blogs, but its other functions are what make it amazing.

Other tools are useful in there own measure. Just some shine more then the rest. This tools will never be obsolete if you just put SOME effort into using them correctly.

There are services selling +1.
When google started showing that star rating thing for "reviews" it got heavily abused by some sites.

+1 wont be hard to game IMO.
