Is submitting your web to Google webmaster tool good or bad idea now days?

I do it and do not have any problems....this is actually how i see where i am ranking and what i am ranking for search queries and it will tell you your average position

In my point of view it is definitely GOOD! Its a free amazing tool, just make use of it!

Some people here tell that to stay away from Google webmaster tool.
I understand it is because they use some Black hat technique.
But is there any chance that it will bring negative impact for my website?
By submitting it will it increase the indexing time process?
For this website I am planing to post only unique article routinely. No spun articles or some low quality articles.
For back linking I make them by my self. No software. Maybe some quality services.

I recommend it. Submit a sitemap and make sure your region is set correctly for your target.

I'm not sure exactly how it could hurt. The only thing I can think of is having all your sites listed under the one account, and then one being penalised. I'm sure Google does not penalise other sites based on how they are connected under one GWT login but, hey, you never know!

Google isn't going to somehow look past your blackhat methods if you don't have a Google Webmaster Tools/Analytics account. The idea that it would is just silly. Simply put, if you've already submitted your website to Google, or Google has already started indexing any of the pages on your website, it already knows your website exists and knows everything it needs to. Anyone who says this isn't aware of how search engines in general work.

It gives you the ability to submit sitemaps which helps Google find more pages on your website. The faster Googlebot crawls your website, the faster it will start indexing it.

Honestly, while I use GA, I've never used GWT, and I think I'll keep it that way. I've ranked a few sites pretty well, and one is even a PR 6 - and its been that way throughout all the updates.

However, you shouldn't take this as being a vote against the GWT. Since I've never used Webmaster tools, I can't say for certain that using it would make a difference or not, but I'm definitely not about to tempt fate seeing all the crap posted about it. KWIM?

Ok I think I will submit it.I have another quedtion. Since I am not the 1st owner of this domain I don't know have the old owner submit it to GWT.Is it ok to submit it again to a different account even if the first owner have submit it?

Mixed feelings on this issue. I personally recommend AGAINST it, only because I engage in building lots and lots of blackhat links, which I drip feed via various link crawling/indexing services. IMO by having Webmaster Tools installed on your site, Google will be able to see all the links coming into your site much quicker than without it, thus negating the whole point of dripping your links, and a potential flag for unnatural link building/too many links too quickly, etc. That's my personal stance on the matter. It makes sense to me, and it's what I advise. I welcome any ideas to suggest the contrary.

Cheers.

Google crawls the websites regardless of if you have GWT/Analytics setup... otherwise, it would be a flawed system and would be easily abused. Having a GWT account simply lets you view some of the information that they're already collecting about your website. Analytics just the same. Having a website added doesn't somehow make indexing any faster, or links recognized and recorded any sooner. That's not how GoogleBot works...

Well perhaps you are right on the incoming links issue... it's just an idea I've been toying around with, but

that's google's M.O.

:)

If I could turn the clock back I would refrain from using any Google tools. That is just personal opinion. If you are not doing any BH stuff on your site you will be OK.

In my point of view Google webmaster tool have some negatives

*the data provided by the program isn't updated that frequently
*new data is only available on a day-by-day basis
*there have been limited reports of the program crashing
