Hey Guys, I just came across it today. I never knew Google has started themselves a Url Shortener service similar too bit.ly

Check out. Its cool. They have click tracking options too.

I guess it works better than bit.ly in terms of loading landing page. Check out.

These days bit.ly shows error message and they have made spam protection much more strict. I guess this Google Url Shortener service will be a great alternative to others.

Share your thoughts guys.

Ya I know... But for some its really good. as it holds authority. I hope Google will not make this too as pain in ass.. They are known for that. hehehehehehe like adsense one big headach.
 
i think they have a problem with clickbank links and some others too, just like bitly...

That is correct. Doesn't work with clickbank links. I only use them with my feedburner account to auto post blogposts on twitter.
 
goo gl deleted one of my urls by "spam"

Be careful.
 
I wonder if it holds any actual benefits over bitly???
 
Ohh i think then its not safe using it... You will never know when those google guys will delete it...

Google profiles users and collects data from multiple points in an effort to do this. I personally have no desire to give Google any additional information then they already have. With so many URL shorteners around, there is no need to use goo.gl.
 
I used to make use of Tweetburner because it allowed you to track how plenty of people clicked on each link &, because it worked fine, I seldom looked at any other url-shortening services. But it wasn't always reliable, & then it disappeared for some time so I had to go search for a new that would track clicks. Now I juse cli.gs & I am liking it. The thing I wish it had is details about each that clicked the link--specifically, what their Twitter ids are. Sounds like Trim & Bit.ly offer this--I'll must check them out.
 
That's cool... I might use it if I'm posting somewhere that has banned bit.ly, TinyURL, and all the other common ones, but you shouldn't come to totally depend on anything by Google. You never know when they'll ditch it, or start charging you for it.
 
Google knows way too much already... no need to give them any more info lol
 
I have my own affiliate platform and 16 affiliates. I sent them an email a week ago about my recommendations to use goo.gl service to cloak links. Did I do something wrong?
