This is some type of penguin roll back. I'm seeing sites bounce back from last penguin update, and sites that I did a disavow file on back in 2013.

also look at how many websites are showing in the results. in my niche it was 500,000,000 results and today it is only 70,000,000 !!!!! so google just dropped 430,000,000 sites for my keyword?!!!

I can see some keywords showing up again on search results from sites I had not much hope in.

This seems to be rolling out across servers. Most of the day I could only see these new results on my phone's 4g. Now I can see it at home, and multiple VPS servers. It's reverting back parts of the last penguin update for sure.

My tools and the ~ 1000 keywords I watch say there was a major update. I'm quite happy with it, all of my sites increased even further again.

Yeah I've noticed a massive change! When I was hit last month I dropped 2 - 3 pages for my main keywords. Now I'm back on the first page for 3/4 of those keywords and some have stayed on page 2 and 3. Not sure how long this will last though, not about to go buy a new car or anything.


EDIT:

I just checked a few more website that use RankWatch to track keywords - because they're slow and inaccurate - and I can see exactly what is being mentioned. One website that got hammered where keywords dropped 90+ positions popped back up to page 1, but when I manually search for them, nowhere to be seen.

Looks like some kind of refresher from Penguin 3 for sure.

yeah, it looks like an odd refresh.... tough to figure it... let's see for a few days, but I think it's some sort of penguin clear up.

Definitely noticing some movement as well. Some very high comp SERPS (Dutch Google) are getting shuffled and I saw at least 5 keywords which all of a sudden show Google News boxes on top.

I also saw a heavily spammed site popping up in the top 5 today. It dropped to place 50 a year ago and I know the owner used the disavow file. So yes, there seems to be something going on. Those Penguin revovery crooks might be able to shed some more light into this.

Wow..

I saw my competitor take a lot of top positions after the update in October....

Now all over page 1 for almost every term after this last update...

After some research I've discovered he's got a network of sites, mostly on the same theme, all selling the same products. All of the sites have a link to all the other ones at the bottom of the page.

How the hell doesn't google catch this...I thought it was all about covering footprints, yet here there's blatant clone sites with great success.

Most of my targetted kws went to top3 and a handful of #1s.

I knew my site was the best and its getting proofed with those #1

Not saying Google didn't change anything, but I didn't notice any difference at all in the ranking of any of my sites.

2 of my websites that got badly hit in the Penguin Update. Both of them were on top 3 for many keywords, after penguin they all disappeared or were 250+. Those websites were thin websites about 1000 words content, powered by my PBN, SAPE, 301 redirects and a couple BHW web2.0 packages for diversification. I just checked 11:51 PM EST and both of them are back on 2nd or 3rd pages on almost all the keywords. WTH .

What I did after penalty? I removed all the SAPE links ( immediately), removed few PBN links and removed all the redirects (over a passage of time).
So what is this update really about?
