Has anyone seen these posts about Google using paid links in a campaign for Google Chrome? Apparently some shitty marketing firm they hired used a crappy campaign to try and boost video views to the site. Google got called out on it by searchengineland.com and so in response, they sandboxed Chrome for 60 days!

    Pretty funny lol...

Maybe it's just a temporary drama to show their competitors that they don't just promote their own products but instead provide an open ground for all. I don't believe those hypocrites.

Woah. That's kind of hardcore for google to do that. But I'm very glad to hear this news, because it means google is serious about their own guidelines, even if it hurts their own site for a while. Keep up the good work, big G!

The thing is all those backlinks google chrome is getting from the news will get them back up in no time.

Like they say, no such thing as bad publicity.

I don't know about this. My FIRST impression is that they are a bunch of pusses for doing that. I thought g00gle was the king, this makes them sound like some teen emo cutting themselves.

This was a MAJOR "Public Relations" ploy by G00gle to draw attention to the Chrome browser and nothing more. It goes to show/prove yet again, how G manipulates the SERPs for their monetary benefit.

This was not a real penalty and anyone who believes this hype, I can sell you a six BR, 7.5 BA, Tri level home that consists of 11,257 sqft, with a cascading swimming pool, situated on 50 acres of land in a private cul-de-sac, located in Los Gatos, California. As you may know, this is one of the most expensive counties in the United States.

Even so, if you believe the Google hype lies and falsities about this penalty, I can sell you this $20 million dollar house and property [See pic below] for $2000.00 cash money = sent to me anonymously of course. Upon receipt, you will receive your keys and title deed in the mail somewhere within the same time frame that G00gle removes the penalty from its OWN FRIGGIN BROWSER ASSET!

I don't really think it was a ploy, they just hired a shitty marketing firm and that firm used this company called Unruly Media, and that company used basic blog network writers to create the content.

I always think its so funny when places like Search Engine Land think stuff like this is such a big deal. Just another day of business for any one on here lol.

Make G products just for web-research ONLY. Don't promote them (any terms) for search user based searcher !
The more they liked, the more ads on their search engine. Up, Middle, Bottom, and sidebar. No more need relevancy with user needs.
Let's all of user close their eyes to G. Now, they're full of sh*t.
